ACT Broadband not compatible with SONY BRAVIA

I recently bought a Sony Bravia KDL42WB900 LED Smart TV. I was so excited to use the smart features of my new TV. When I try to connect to my wireless internet. The TV finds our wireless router name, but when we try to connect wireless it gives the following message:
    TV wi-fi: Found
    Local access OK
Network Access: Failed. The router I have is Cisco Linksys E900.

On the TV we have two different ways to locate the router they are 1) By scanning, 2) the WPS button. My router doesn't have WPS button, so I've tried scanning option and got the above message.

    Please help if anyone can.

Please check what kind of security is your TV compatible with and set it up in the router accordingly. That is the only reason I can think of. You should be able to check that in TV's manual.

thank you SV, for your reply.

I was able to resolve this issue by setting static IP on my TV.

Was the Cisco/Linksys router provided by ACT? Or is it yours?

If it was theirs, how did you get access to the router's configuration to change it?

You need to use those settings in the router not in your TV's settings. Leave TV to acquire IP automatically and DNS and everything else as blank. There is no reason why it shouldn't work.

If it works on dynamic IP, why change it to static? If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it.
