Aircel 3G Signal Goes Live in coimbatore from yesterday night (sunday 13th march). I got strong signal in my location (NGGO Colony,thudiyalur at coimbatore), where so far poor 3G signals from BSNL. Much hyped vodafone 3G cannot reach beyond coimbatore town. Well done AIRCEL3G.

May be Vodaphone thought people in Racecourse and R.S puram only will buy their serivices !( Joking ).
Post your Aircel speed test .Any freebie for 7 days like they gave in Chennai ?

Check speed test Vodaphone also in your phone if you can in Gandhipuram bus stand /Railway station and Race course to see what max signal strength.

Next to BSNL &Airtel- Aircel and Voda have original 3g liecences for TN. (others have to piggy back after dust settles )- These 4 are going to be main 3G players in TN.

Aircel is a dynamic & nimble marketing company. After fullly scaling their network ,they can give a real run for money for others in all Zones they operate.

Just saw your location in your profile -"Ooty" and you say you live in NGGO colony in Thudiyalur ,Kovai.
I assume you may be native of Ooty or have another residence there.
Just want to know the 3G picture in OOty.
I went and stayed in Ooty for a week last Sep. I had only my Tata photon on hand . Zero signal !
I was told only BSNL & MTS are working in OOty. You may know the situation in Ooty better ? Thanks.

AirTel provides excellent coverage very near to SREC college which is 4km away from thudiyalur.(15km away from Gandhipuram)
Full 5 bar signal
DL - 1500kbps, UL 500kbps

For airecel, i got 4 bar signal in same location.
Waiting for their 3g activation for a small download test.

In ooty mobile coverage is poor due to terrain.
But i heard about good coverage of EVDO in ooty city.

Yeah ! MTS -EVDO and BSNL -EVDO should have better signal strength compared to 3 G in Coonoor ,Ooty & Kotagiri. ( BSNL claims 3G coverage in all 3 towns)
MTS has good "E"coverage of all B class towns in Tamilnadu.
I was bit tempted few months ago when they offered (CDMA similar to Photon and Net Connect))USB modem @Rs 999 with 1 month U/L ( 12 GB) @Rs 999. .
Just held back and went with 3 G.
My next door neighbour has MTS and it is ok in TN. Gives up to 1 Mbps.But roaming is problem.
what data card you are using (if any )?

i am using vodafone mobile broadband 3570z(unlocked) with Airtel3G and BSNL EVDO.
So far BSNL EVDO provides nice speed (1000kbps) after some tweaks and indoor antenna.
My home is 5kms away from tower with lot of trees around, hinders line of sight.

Also i have spectranet broadband (384kbps - Rs 450per month)

Look like AIRCEL is doing internal testing in coimbatore.
signal is disappeared from yesterday evening, earlier it is 4 bar signal.
