Thread: Prepaid Aircel says Idea, wont connect

Hi everybody!

I bought a Micromax usb dongle in Manali a couple of weeks ago, prepaid with Aircel. I don't think I ever got 3G speeds on it, but then I lived far up the hills.

Anyway, I've arrived in Jaipur and when I insert the dongle and start up the software, before I press the "connect" button, it says "initializing" and then there's an icon of the Earth and next to it it says IDEA. I don't think it used to say anything before. Below the globe icon there's a "G", some other icons and an "E".

When I press 'connect' it doesn't authenticate me any longer.

What could this be??

Having my usb plugged in, but not connected I just now received an sms from Aircel. So some sort of connection is established.

So why can't i connect anymore?

I went to an Aircel office and they got it working for me.
