I discontinued my Pocket internet pack. Earlier it was giving good speed. But after a week speed dropped considerably. Pages took so long to load and mostly end up in error. I posted a complaint. They said they will call me back. But sign till now. I am planning to move to Vodafone. They do not have unlimited in my area but I think they give 50 MB for Rs. 97.

no, never use aircel for GPRS, very very very bad speed.

Aircel Speed: 0.200 bits yes 0.200 bites, not kbps.
i am live in delhi, and lots of mobile towers near to my house(40mtr)

use AirTel GPRS - same Price with good speed.

So does this mean one how opts aircel gets damn pwned???
Well i heard from one of my old fella that you are charged for downloading even with 98/- recharge [He said he gets speed around 10 - 15kbps in Bangalore (Kamashipalya) where he resides]..., is this true or applicable in whole Bangalore???

I am new and getting damn pwned by BSNL newbies [officers] who know nothing so thinking to shift from them to Aircel, is this good so that i can give it a shot???

You pay on data basis or
for full month Rs 98/= to be renewed every month.
Second option has Unlimited download. Probably if you dont' renew you are charged on data basis.
select your circle and cross check.

    Default Aircel pocket internet

    Hi!

I'm using Aircel to surf web pages and download small files- 3MB. The maximum speed I have seen is an average consistent speed of 120 kbps (low of 60 and high of 153) and this has been usually between 2 to 5 in the morning. However, this speed changes in the daytime as it is 30-50kbps. I was promised 70-100 at the time of connection and its meeting the standards for some hours of the day. Lately, for the past 4 days the internet has been very slow and I mean 16-24kbps which I have never seen before. However, as I am typing right now, things appear to have improved.

Latency remains an issue! Its not as quick as my Vodafone gprs.

I recharge for Rs.97 and get Unlimited Pocket Internet for 30 days.
Network in the old city, where I live - Hyderabad - is good.

    MY AIRCEL UPDATE -

Aircel removed the unlimited GPRS pack (97 Rupees) as soon as Dishnet(its internet provider) got in the muck with the government run auction Scam(RAJA) in the mid 2010 and its now 3GB limited. The Supreme court has been getting closer and closer and stronger with its words and I was wondering when I'd be smelling something foul... and it happened. As if the latency wasn't an issue, the mobile phone network has gone awfully down and this was well connected in the past few months since I got this connection and the GPRS is so MiserablE that to describe it in few more words would be a waste of time as I have been hearing complaints all the while... Its 'PATHETIC'..

I complained and received an sms few days later saying my concern was resolved with all the pompy action codes and jargon attached to the sms.. But the complaint yielded no result whatsoever on the ground!!! Its same as before... If not the GPRS then at least the phone calls shouldn't drop so often even on the stairs close to terrace? It's a joke!! My sms won't go through either! Try for 25 minutes or so and it depends on its mood! It feels like they have removed their coverage from my area and their network point is somewhere far off! This phenomenon is uniform in several other places in the city I travel to during the day. The CALL CENTRE EXECUTIVES keep repeating that it is because of peak hours and my reply to them is whether the peak hours extend from 7 in the morning to 12 in the night? One Idiot suggests that I FORMAT my mobile phone! And another one is that I should delete the cookies! When I tell them I have done all the troubleshooting including the one specified by them, they repeat the same SCRIPTED thing about deleting cookies!!

I changed a samsung WINDOWS MOB 6.5, Nokia 6681, 2 Sony Ericssons and a Spice mobile's top end model within my family but the Aircel performs the same in all of these phones! Wonderful!

Went back to Vodafone and this is working pretty good! It took 35 seconds for a yahoo mobile page to load on an Aircel GPRS connection! What the hell is that Pocketinternet and those crappy ads... Its all a waste of money and the 2 pence company is trying hard to survive in the market!

I think I'll move to some other provider(NUMBER PORTABILITY ACTIVATED ON 20th JAN 2011) from my Aircel number by February!
To hell with Aircel and no point of return for good!!!

    @Pistole_lachen

Try this, *125# for main balance & *126*4# for data balance.
