    Default Aircel GPRS

    Anyone using Aircel GPRS?

Whats it like, is it worth getting a new connection for their GPRS service, seeing that they have their unlimited offer (if its still available)?

yes its airtel gprs scheme with which you are going to sign up...try only their unlimited schemes. call their cust care. dont go for kb schemes as these are only expensive. unlimited schemes are good.

Can you please let me know-What would be the requirement to Start GPRS or Pocket internet in Aircel.

    Thanks for any help.

    hi ruby...)

first of all you should have gprs settings on your handset that available on Aircel network services.. the option is get gprs settings.. or do the following..

go to configuration>new personnel config> add new web> name-aircel-gprs> and accesspoint also as aircel-gprs..
now save it and activate it on your phone...

your phone should have edge ability search nokia phones with edge or let me know whats your phone and i tell you..

you must have more than 98 in your account so that you can recharge the unlimited gprs .. or go to a recharge centre tell him to do 98 ka top up for unlimited internet on aircel...

though i found aircel to be too slow, but its the place... in bangalore it was quite faster

Just call the customer care and give your phone's model no. They will send you the settings. Simply save the settings. You are ready to use Pocket internet. I took pocket internet 2 days ago. It is very simple. All you need is to mention the model no correctly. Aircel has special GPRS help desk. They will guide you through the process. Dont forget to Recharge for Rs. 97 to get unlimited pack. Hope this helped.

Speed is pretty good. Not sure about the real value. No way to perform speedtest.

It is certainly a bit slow. It took around 5 - 10 minutes to download a 3.5 MB file. I will try speedtest and will update here.
