Default Calls to 121 charged !!!

I read in yesterday's paper an official notice to Aircel Customers, that Agent support queries for enquiries at 121 will be charged @ Re.0.50 per three minutes from the time you press the option for agent assistance at IVR.

And for complaints related to Aircel (i.e:activation or deactivation of services),you would have to call their 24 hour toll free number 198 from your local Aircel Mobile.

I think this will be a big put off for Aircel customers, as being charged for contacting customer service, knowing your balance, or putting money into your account will cost them money, where as doing this for other mobile service providers will not cost anything. If this news is correct then its a bad move from Aircel's side.

Both Airtel and Aircel have started charging calls to 121,only if you speak to the Agent (i.e: Customer Care Executive ). IVR is free.

Its really a bad move from giant like Airtel, seems they are gifting their customers this way to celebrate clinching of Zain Africa.

On the other side Reliance is celebrating its 100 million customers on 28th March by making all calls free from reliance mobile to reliance mobile through out India.

Airtel the most leading mobile service provider in India is celebrating in such a way.
Reliance the second most leading mobile service provider is celebrating 100 million customers by giving some good news to its customers.

actually all telcos are going to adopt this method.........if you contact the customer care for any question(mind it!not complain!) then you have to pay the price..........calling to 121 is chargeble only then if you opt to talk to the executive, otherwise it's free!for any complain please dial 198(irrespective of operator,circle).....that will be toll-free service!
