Default Airtel 3G Still Needs to Wait!

The 3G seems to be of great buzz in the entire nation these days because of plethora of services provided by the 3G. BSNL has already got a big share in the market with its 3G plans and the facilities that it got form the government of India to launch the spectrum very first in India. The biggies like Airtel, Reliance, Idea and others are just waiting. Airtel is planning to launch its 3G services from October 2010 and it is at present launched in Bangalore on experimental basis. The tariff plans for 3G by Airtel will be announced very soon and it will try to get back the aura it enjoys in the market very soon.

All things of Airtel 3G depends on the auction of the 3G spectrum by the government. If the government makes some delay in the auction there is possibility that the Airtel 3G may get delayed. The Airtel has unfolded a combo pack of 3G and iPhone just recently. This is available to use the 3G only in selected cities.

Since the announcement was made by the Department of Telecommunications to allocate the 3G spectrum by auctioning, the major players have geared up to provide 3G access to its subscribers in the cities. Airtel has actually refused on a press meet to give details regarding their network vendors and they only said that they would be dealing with more than one network companies for the spectrum of 3G.

So the things are not yet clear with Airtel 3G services and what kind of facilities, tariff rates and other features would accompany the 3G services. It is expected that there won’t be much variation from what the BSNL 3G is actually providing these days. The TV commercials and other yellow page ads tell you what the BSNL 3G is capable of - speed of BSNL 3G is absolutely 3.6 Mbps which means you can have download speed of nearly 2.1 Mbps.

3G data cards are available to sell in Pune & Mumbai. But they 'll run on EDGE network only unless 3G goes live with Airtel network.

    Bharti Airtel’s 3G Services From October 2010
    Update: 2009-09-03

Bharti Airtel, the Indian telecom operator with the largest subscriber base, has announced the rolling out of its 3 G mobile telephony by October 2010.

"If everything goes well on time with regard to spectrum auction, by February or March we should receive spectrum allocation," Bharti Airtel chief executive Manoj Kohli told the media during a telecom conference in New Delhi.

"By next Diwali (2010) , we will commercially launch 3 G services in India, " he added.

The base price for 3 G radio waves had been brought down by the central government from Rs. 4 ,040 crore to Rs.3 ,500 crore last week.
The central government had also revealed about 90 days will be required to complete the auctioning related to the distribution of the 3 G and WiMax spectrum, from which it expects to earn Rs.25 ,000 crore.

Now where 4G had come as define by ITU. They are all giving some more bandwidth than 3.5 G ( which is now in India) & are branding it as 4G. But true 4G will come on 2011 not before that ( it might arrive on 2 or 3 cities on 2010 dec but chances are not that good). Anywhere you read that Japan or any or country is giving out 4g is in actual giving out pre 4G.
A data rate of 100mbps while moving & a data rate of 1 gbps while stationary is a must.
History is on the move,my friends. Those who cannot keep up will be left behind, to watch from distance. And those who stand in its way will not watch at all.
