Thread: Airtel 3g on 2g plan?

Hey guys
As far as im concerned operators are providing this as a promotional scheme...
My friend did a 1gb 2g recharge..activated 3g n used it at 3g speeds but it wasnt the case with the one..
Neways i wanna know is this also available on 1 mnth unlimited 2g recharge? if neone knows pls share...

I think I have something similar happening with my account balance. I get this 1.5gb or so monthly 2g recharge. recently i activated my 3g connection and tried topping up some 200mb of 3g data. Now i get a msg saying that I have more than 50 mb of free data and cannot topup this 200mb. And when I do speed test i get steady 60kbps.(yes, weird, agreed)
I stay in manipal, my coverage does come full. then I went into the town (udupi) there I did a speed test and voila 4mbps connection.
So: 1. yes they seem to give the initial balance of whatever 2g balance as free 3g data.
2. They cut speeds to 60kbps for some weird reason too.
