please post your router/modem details too
and please check DSL/link/i light on your modem/router if it flashes during disconnection then its a possbile problem with physical setup or its a line fault.

I call up Airtel CC everyday since this freakin problem.
what airtel said about it, tell them to run a fault diagnostic test on your line and check SNR on your modem
apart from this please check physical setup of your broadband using main socket (first socket installed by airtel) only
main socket>>filter/splitter>>DSL cable>>modem>>USB>>system
>>phone
and remove all other devices from phone line like fax or any other additional phone

post yours see under Statistics ADSl.
or report data asked in Post 6.
Only SNR Attn Line speed attainable and RATE both U/L D/L
and Mod selected needed.
If you can Select only GDMT in DSL page and Bitswap enabled. ( Mod choices )and try.
I called up those Airtel CC (noobs) and this lady attend my call she said i got virus and she was getting hostile for no reason and i'm pretty sure that there is no godamn virus on my pc.Could it also because there's some problem in my DNS settings andc they also told me to check my bytes send/recived and they told me that i have no problem with it but i'm still having problem.

Suggestion 1 :
In modem settings Maintanence select Client TR-069 ( if available)
Disable it or increase time to say 136000
Suggestion 2o adsl ber test. error rate seems high.
for comparison mine 110BX1 now
Suggestion 3 :Check contacts. Ensure all Phones connected AFTER ADSL splitter.ADSL BER Test - Result
The ADSL BER test completed successfully.
Test Time (sec): 20
Total Transferred Bits: 0x0000000002360A00
Total Error Bits: 0x0000000000000000
Error Ratio: 0.00e+00
( or disconnect , if any parallel connection in any other room ).
Query :
Where ? Give link IP address. New to me (Airtel user for three years )i have to activate airtel net activation which is done through IE
Suggestion 4:
Beetel 220BX
. Post Device status screen shot.
Can you do Firmware update if needed, or ask Airtel CC to do it.MINE Jan 2008. 110BX1.

How do you access this page online in IE? img379.imageshack.us/img379/8904/actvvh5.png
( Never had to try Netexpert or this site. May have seen and forgotten. Thanks for the info)
You are already connected to Internet via Airtel ISP ?
After you got net activation above, what all changes were made in the modem settings and computer TCP/IP pages, every time for normal connection ?
Para two : Your SNR is poor Attn should also reduce . What was the Mod mode selected ? If GDMT, check the connections/cables. Did you disable client tr- 069?
Instead of asking questions, you should have tried the changes suggested and given feedback -ve or positive.
Post IP config/all data.
Probably Airtel CC may change the modem. Call CC
again. .
I'm still confused how it happened actually.Today i called up and got my router reset and so far so good...
I don't get this part.Para two : Your SNR is poor Attn should also reduce . What was the Mod mode selected ? If GDMT, check the connections/cables. Did you disable client tr- 069?

Sorry to barge in like this...
stick0 how do you get to know that you are disconnected for 5-10 seconds... is it coz some times a webpage doesnt open and comes up with page not found message? and you refresh it again and it works fine?
If this is not the case could you please let us know how you came to the conclusion that you get disconnected for 5-10 seconds.
( Please do not think that I am taking you as a newbie or something of that sort... just trying to get to the root of it)
I know because the network icon shows disconnection and site won't open during that period.I don't know how i got this problem.
I found my self helpless...When i'm facing the problem i typed (cmd) ping Google and i get 'time out' as reply is this really because of virus?
I don't think that it is a virus. Line problem most likely. I had similar issues, but with BSNL: http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...ions-bsnl.html (My interactions with BSNL)
U should get airtel to run a test on your line , also how are u connected ? PPPOE / dialer ?
When u call Airtel , Ask to speak directly with the Tech dept , normal CC guys are useless .
Have Airtel send an onsite engineer they are usually dispatched within the day but only after you raise a ticket with the Tech Dept .
I feel it's a problem with your line , maybe with earthing or some power leak , try connecting via PPPOE mode for the time being but u definately need an onsite engineer to check the telephone cable going from the main junction box till your home .
