    farina1.com/DG834G/routerstatus.jpg
see screenshot above and report your router's status.
    or post ipconfig/all data
Presume you have the installation CD.
    For Airtel VPI/VCI is 1 and 32.
First try LAN port connection. Then wireless mode.

The beauty of Linksys or Netgear routers is that their web interface is very similar for different router models. If you can setup one Netgear router, you will have little difficulty in setting up other Netgear models.

svijayakumar_mca has given you the settings. Here is a link for Netgear WGR614 router. Use this as a reference: Setup of UT-300R2 with Netgear WGR614v7 (but use values given by svijayakumar_mca).

On my ADSL settings page there are only 3 fields
    Multiplexing Method
    VPI
    VCI
NO option to set ADSL mode. I have the same modem as yours DG834G.
    Please help.

    Hello Essbebe,

    Thanks for your response.
I tried your suggestion, but no luck. My service provider requires authentication; hence I need to select the "Does Connection Require Login = Yes" option.
I selected PPPoE as that is what my 'Beetel 220BX' was set to.
Also when I tried vpi/vci : 0/35 option there is no success.

Although as I had mentioned earlier when I try vpi/vci : 1/32; LLC based connection. It works but keeps disconnecting. The log shows the following entries.

The old Beetel 220BX has 2 entries in the ADSL settings.
    1/32
    and
    0/35 - for bridging.

    VPI/VCI|Con. ID|Category|Service |Interface |Protocol|Igmp |QoS |State
    1/32 | 1 | UBR |pppoe_1_32|ppp_1_32_1 |PPPoE |Disabled|Disabled|Enabled
    0/35 | 1 | UBR |br_0_35 |nas_0_35 |Bridge |N/A |Disabled|Enabled

Hope this information is of use. Desperately need help.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Ajay

    Hi Essbebe,

I posted a long response to your suggestion but it hasn't come up and is probably being moderated. I will try and reproduce the message.

My DG834G seems to connect to the service , but keeps getting disconnected frequently.

The Log suggests an LCP issue.
I tried Changing the LAN IP to 192.168.1.1, as some posts suggested, but with no success with the connectivity.
The DG834G log is something like this.

    Thu, 2009-10-15 06-23-54 - Administrator login successful - IP:192.168.1.2
    Thu, 2009-10-15 06-24-06 - Initialize LCP.
Thu, 2009-10-15 06-24-07 - LCP is allowed to come up.
    Thu, 2009-10-15 06-24-07 - PAP authentication success
    Thu, 2009-10-15 06-24-35 - LCP down.
    Thu, 2009-10-15 06-24-37 - Initialize LCP.
Thu, 2009-10-15 06-24-38 - LCP is allowed to come up.
    Thu, 2009-10-15 06-24-38 - PAP authentication success
    Thu, 2009-10-15 06-26-04 - Loss of synchronization 1

Also the earlier Beetel 220BX settings are as shown in the attachment.

I have spent 2 sleepless nights on this issue.
