Default New connection, 24hrs and troubles start multiplying

hello all... i got a connection on the 31st oct... was happy till about 30 hrs with it...

the connection is having frequent disconnections, this problem was way more yesterday and has resolved to some extent today. I checked the snr margins attenuation n what not but all have outstanding figures.

that apart; the router is not forwarding ports on manual rules i entered in it. Just forwards when UPnP port mapping does that.

And what happend today about 3 hours back has spelled doom for my comp; what happened was that to have my complaint registered i just got to the online chat option in the airtel netxpert app () and there was prompted to install some sort of 'control' software, well i did so... then had my complaint registered for the freq disconn issue....

After this when i restarted my comp i was having unusually long boot times; so i decided to uninstall the control software (the latest addition to it)

after the uninstall i restarted the comp and still had the long boots so i decided to uninstall the netxpert soft too, the guy who installed the app clearly said i dnt need the soft to keep my conn running (why the hell did he install it then, useless comp slowing apps); so i just uninstalled and restarted to find that all my startup items had been deleted
    my av, firewall, kbd.exe.... all!

i restored my av n firewall tho; but since then the router does not come up on the network connections as the gateway (upnp) neither does it show up on my network places.

and it is not forwarding any ports (since upnp is not working; look above)...

what now? what do i have to do to get upnp support back?

further now the modem shows an interesting thing ( even from before the soft uninstall) that its pings time out as soon as some app wants a port forwarded; this happens when i try to connect to msn on pidgin...

all in all i have now wasted my whole day with this connection, and am going to waste another 4 hrs if i have to format the c: and reinstall everything to get back the UPnP support; can airtel make up for my lost time!? no it has to go about making useless software for its customers.

and yeah incidentally i havent even got a call back for the complaint i filed today. the four hours of resolution time is about to expire in 40 mins...

Any solutions for my problems any1 please??

PS: Please go through the trouble of reading the post; i know its quite long

UPDATE: I managed to add all the missing startup entries myself... then the upnp hosts services was not started up; started that too, and portmapping works again. Looks like u r on ur own with airtel..

We have Ashok from Airtel who is now a regular here. Maybe he can shed some light.
Personally, I think, any ISP which insists on loading unrequired s/w, is suspicious in my opinion.

yup they shud b suspected; n they wont be able to explain the router time out if u ask them...
and what uninstalling the sw did to my system; just to confirm i reinstalled the sw and then uninstalled and the same thing happened. The HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\current version\Run was again WIPED CLEAN.

disconnection is mainly due to differenet reaons has nothing to do with the s/w that the airtel CC installeld on your computer.if using a wireless connection just try to use wired for sometime n see if it makes the connection stable.

tr_069 is set to inform 'enabled', display SOAP messages to 'disable'....

just found out that the router goes into a kind of a sync state evry exact 20mins; the time the pings are particularly long ~1000ms; and i suffer a disconnection for the time its doing that thing ~6-7secs.

    @attitude i'm on wired connection.

and this is happening every exact 20mins no more no less... during the 6 secs the data light flashes on n off every 1 sec.

and this was worse after the 24hrs of installation; it used to time out during this time and then quite often reboot. i have turned on the system log to see any possible signs what it cud be up to... and also set the internet time update.....

    Suggestion 1
    .Now disable client tr_069.
I always try disable if enabled, and visa versa for any setting !!!!!!!

    Suggestion 2 :
IN DSL page disable ADSL2 and ADS2 +
    Keep Bitswap enabled.

Suggestion 3 : For Port forwarding see portforward.com
    Instructions available for Beetel220BX .
    Suggestion 4.: Open Modem 192.168.1.1/main.html
    to access Advanced options.
Feedback +ve or - ve welcome.

Suggestion 5: Post screenshot of Device Status page to
check Firmware version. Can try to update. Not really needed.
Airtel will replace the modem ( I got 110BX1), If you inform CC.

And yes there is this entry "user: ACS Disconnect with error 3"; i viewed the system log and found this entry a number of times; close to the time that i get this downtime.

the firmware v is 3.12L.01.A2pB023k.d20k_rc2... i think it was updated whn it was installed.

i think he did update it ashok. i am growing more suspicious of it since it does not forward ports on manual rules, and this 20mins stuff...

i checked the logs and had em checked with a networking expert but he too cnt make out anything from it...

and also the connection speed is not very constant.

    Update

well today i was surprised to find that there was no 20mins periodic disconnection since last night... ... the speed was also more or less constant (not very though)...

and checked the ping times of the router and found that now they are always <1=ms... previously when i used to have that 20mins problem i always got replies ~6ms.

So how come it changed overnight?? now m just too scared to switch off or restart the router, what if the problems popped up on me again?
