If you have rented the modem from Airtel, ask them
to give the Wireless model of beetel
.Welcome to Beetel Modems

@Drparry
Sorry. Did not read the thread properly. You are using Huawei TypeII modem in Airtel BB.
Try 192.168.1.1/main.html
Advanced port forwarding etc OR
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall to access certain TCP/UDP ports.
( usually for Games/ etc )

Yes but first you need to first connect wired and ou need to use smartax router cd or you can go to 192.168.1.1 just go to basic wan settings then just type airtel u/n and p/w there, save it and then rebboot the router. Then u can connect wirless by going through same address.

Default setup BSNL WA1003A modem/router with Linksys WRT54G wireless router

Hi ,
I have BSNL WA1003a huawei modem/router. I have another linksys WRT54G wireless router and want to use the WA1003a just as a modem and leave the routing to the linksys router. Basically I want to to do this because the linksys router is a better one and has a good range when compared to the wa1003a. If anybody has been able to get this to work or knows how to do it, please send me detailed steps.
Thanks in advance.

Default abt BSNL Modem

Folks,
Wish to know the main difference between BSNL modems (Type 1, 2, 3 & 4). Based on my knowledge 4 out puts on type 3 & 4.
1. Is it permitted to connect more that one pc at a time using Type 3 or 4 (Ethernet)
2. Is it permitted to connect more than one pc at a time using Type 1 & 2 (Ethernet & USB)
3. BSNL modem rent period?
4. If we are buying a modem and upgrade 256 to 512. Is it required to change modem?

I wonder if anyone has got the Huawel WA1003A modem working with Airtel in the wireless (WiFi) mode? The steps mentioned does work for connecting the WA1003A modem to airtel connection and browse, provided the modem is connected to the laptop using an ethernet cable. I'd like the laptop and modem to be connected using WiFi so that I've mobility of the laptop.

Sometimes with the same configuration even if the WiFi shows connected, I'm unable to browse.
