I have taken night top up of airtel for Rs. 200 long back which starts at 8 pm to 8 am. During this time any data transfer will not be counted.
Now if i connect at 7:45 pm and continue using in night, it will be counted as normal and not free. I am correct because last month i received a heavy bill from airtel and i actually started before 8 pm and continued through night. Airtel manager says that DNS gets refreshed in every 24 hours, so if DNS doesn't get refreshed than you will be unlucky and you will be billed.
I asked airtel in reverse way that if I start at 7:45 am and continue in day then it should be free as long as DNS doesn't get refreshed or my IP address doesn't get changed automatically. There was no answer from them and though I haven't tried this, can anyone would like to answer upon this situation.

.If you complain to Nodal officer , your FREE night usage will not
appear in Self Care page or in your printed bill.
and you should get waiver/credit upto Rs 500/= at least.
( CC limit I think )

I am regularly using NU without disconnecting at 0900PM
My NU is not counted even if I had been connected earlier.

The explanation given by Airtel CC , is not convincing ,
and even some of their technical staff are not aware of this.
I was going to surrender the connection almost.

Finally one "Priya" from Bangaluru office , contacted me,
and assured me that
my NU will not be recorded and shown in NU.
( At least in My Self care page and Printed bill .)

Now I am on Home Combo 499 + top up Rs 99
speed upto 2 Mbps.+ 200 rupees worth of free calls.

Airtel, never gives anything in writing,and
if you are not satisified with email replies,
Customer Retention Cell will contact you on Phone !


Not correct. counting will stop only at 8PM or 9 PM as applicable for NU

At least. Airtel, has not discontinued the facilities given to old
BB users, and the moment you change to another Tariff plan, NU is gone forever ! Schemes/offers different in each State.I am in TamilNadu.
