They must be doing some sort of meddling with the DSLAM. Enjoy the speeds while it lasts

wow u r one lucky chap... i think the boost was there for quite some time and i hadn't discovered it; partly because there's nothing left for me to download ... i've got everything i wanted... there are just the 3 shows that i get and those are available on thursday...

hey i reset the router and the speed boost is there again!!!!!

the LAN data light's glowing near constantly on the comp now ... added 4torrs... see what i can extract out of it.

lol... it went away just now, and restarted router again and again it came back

It has to do something with technical details. It happens when companies make changes in their DSLM at their end. And they dont care if some bandwith is lost to customers as its very much cheap for them.

But BSNL is government entity so has to answer to them if these things happen and they believe in giving nothing for free. Lol

The boost ended that morning itself, but i am happy i downloaded around 8Gb. Hope it comes again fast

Many subscribers of BSNL has also reported the same when they are being migrated to the new NIB 2 network. I personally know two subscribers in Kolkata who enjoyed 8mbps for two months.

But all will agree that Airtel is only the service provider where theses kinds of boost are common. and in last 1 year or so it had occured to me for 5-6 times

hey guys , i got new airtel connection on 28/feb/2009.
On the same day I was downloading a movie at around 10:30 pm...at 32kBps and suddenly i got a hike in speed of 2mbps.The hike happened automatically,I hadnt even restarted the modem(as few guys say that it happens only at restarting it.).So for me it is not the case.
Havent got speed bursts uptill today! Waiting for it though.

and all the people who have been posting in this thread.....
to sum it up all :

    "Oh you are lucky....
    Oh I am lucky....
    Oh its a mistake...
Oh I got 2 MBPS for some time as a part of their mistake...
I got the speed for 17 hrs
    etc. etc....
No offence... but it seems as if we are saying...
I see the rainbow... with starting voilet colour .....Oh ya ? well I see it ... but I think Indigo is second and Violet is first....No way... I see Violet + Indigo and then Blue....going on and on.. without any actual conclusion, advice or tweak...
If you want the thread can go on and on saying "Oh yes I think I am getting it now.....god knows how or why" ?
Sorry did not mean only U himan01 it involves every one.. and I am agitated because dedicatedly I checked each and every message so that I could really find a solution but it goes back to sqaure one after every 2-3 messages. What I mean is if someone has a way out and does not depend on their(airtels) mistake... then speak (or post) else.. just don't add more to the pile of bull dung
