Well...most veterans will already know this but as tech. literacy goes in India, i wouldn't be surprised with the answers-
"what is the difference b/t 2mBps and 2mbps?"
now, if you know this, you'd be laughing but you'd be amazed(or not if you already know abt how much india knows of tech and stuff) to knoww some answers i've gotten from my friends

eg "My speed is 100MBps" - LMAO wtf are you thinking, in India!(obviously reffering to the modem PC connection speed).

So i just wanted to see if everyone had an idea...ciao everyone

some answers that u recieve ar just superb....you could write a book out of them lol

Incase you people forgot the difference let me clear it

kBps or KB/s= Kilo Bytes per second, and

Kbps= Kilo Bits per second

And yeh most of us will say that i have a speed of 100 Mbps or 54 Mbs if you ask them that whats ur speed

Are these people tech guys working/studying in IT?

I am not sure some of us can answer questions about
agriculture or medicine, that doesn't make us any less
intelligent.

So just because someone who is using the internet
doesn't know or care about bits and bytes doesn't
mean we should make fun of them and feel superior.

hey leopold,farce...no offence meant,sometimes these ans are so hilarious, mah buddies back in the UK went mad with laughter, really though it is quite funny.i understand its just that the ppl aren't tech literate enuf...so maybe i'll stop here untill this turns into bad banter...

When I was using Dial-Up, I thought I am only getting 6-7 KBps even though it says Connected at 49 KBps.

Well according to me we should make fun of the people who dont know these simple things of they are using internet connection and i have a reason for that you know what? here it is

By making fun of them may be by chance they will try to increase their knowledge by digging into google after they are embarassed, well thats what i feel!!

That's a sad way to do things. It just shows the arrogance in you when you make fun of people who don't know something that you do.

Do you stop to consider that they might not have had the same opportunity as you? Unfortunately this is the main reason for the sad state of affairs in India, people looking to please their egos and make fun of people rather than help out with humility...

I think most of the IBB regulars already know this
