    hell all tech people i just want to know how can i share a ip my problum is if i share a ip using switch i have to keep power on the main server i just dont want to keep on all time so is there any way to share ip with out to keep on the server i am thinking to bey a router is this router idea works for me or not so plese all tech people advise me in right direction

    From what u have posted, i gather that u want to share the connection to other pcs, too? Right? U can configure the modem to work in router/pppoe mode. And thus u will be able to share the connection. Only the modem need be switched on.

    why do u need to keep the main server on for sharing using a switch ... u just need to keep the modem/router on ...
