| Amor vincit omnia | Ok, so u want to use BSNL modem with your Airtel connection. Right? Yes it can be done. Since both BSNL and Airtel are providing DSL services. And the modems are not locked to some particular network. |

Rep Power: 12 | @bondshiva Both modems are almost identical. ( see modem settings pages except Wireless Not available in beetel 110BX1) http://i37.tinypic.com/2n7jhbk.jpg http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h2...s/untitled.jpg http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/5...iceinfohd4.png Select VPI/VCI 0 and 35 for BSNL Select VPI/VCI 1 and 32 for Airtel. Keep existing entries for AIRTEL. You can use a single/any modem for either ISP. In "Bridged" mode Dialup enter ID password externally. In "AlwaysOn"PPP/PPPoE userid and PW entered in WAN page. ( for BSNL BB @ dataone.in or @ bsnl.in may be omitted) REFERENCE: for wireless model http://www.chennai.bsnl.co.in/BBS/WA...eless_security |

Rep Power: 12 | 1.Can you use Beetel110BX1 for Airtel and connect to Internet ? If not call customer Care Airtel. They will come and restore the connection. Para two : 2.Disconnect Beetel Modem 110BX1. 3.Connect modem/wireless router DNA-A211-1 4.Lan port to computer/laptop ethernet port. 5Follow settings given in the Chennai link 6. Confirm Internet works. 7.Keep the Lan cable connected 8and program modem/router DNA.A211-1 for wireless. ( All adsl modems routers wif routers 3-in one can be used for All ISPs. ) Item 15 onwards. 9.Try unsecured first. 10.Then security key. 11. Post your ipconfig/all data Start/ run type cmd type ipconfig /all Reply by number. or like this . Quote:

Note the following properties which are to be ensured for seamless connectivity : PVC : PVC0 VPI : 1 VCI : 32 Virtual Circuit : enabled Wan Setting : PPPoE or PPPoA Username : Password : Authentication Type : Auto Connection Type : PPPoE LLC (Not sure about this part for Airtel Broadband) Setting all these correctly in the modem should make the connection work flawlessly. Bothe BSNL and Airtel use DSL technology, hence the modem can be interchanged. I am using a Reliance Broadband modem with my BSNL connection. | |

Rep Power: 2 | Thanks for the reply Essbebe. My biggest issue now is that I am unable to find any light (except for Power) on my BSNL modem when I plug it in with the DSL and Ethernet wires Only when I get some connection, I can configure the WAN/LAN settings |

Rep Power: 2 | Thanx once again Essbebe, I connected the RJ11 directly from the line junction box to the BSNL modem and also the Ethernet cable to Ethernet Port # 1 of the modem. Still the same. Only the Power LED was glowing. I tried a modem reset (pressing the button using a pointed metal I have for 40 seconds) still no use. Now I am replying to you by connecting back the Beetel modem (line directly from the line junction). What could be wrong ?? This way, I cannot either update the software for DNA-A211-I or configure setting on 198.168.1.1 |
