    Default SNR margin down 50%, attenuation up 50%!! Unstable connection, landline dead..

    Till yesterday all was fine...

    now this morning i noticed my landline was not working anymoe, though the dsl was working, but getting disconnected every ~30mins or so.

    Just checked out the screenshot of the dsl statistics of a month back, and the present stats, and they are BAD... m now thinking how the hell is the internet still working even with breaks.

    i can't get through to the engineer as its a saturday, n can't reach their customer care.

    what cud have happened in a night!?

    the SNR margin has dropped now to just 4.4 and 4.2 .. i wonder how the hell is the net still working

    Have u tried changing the ADSL modulation to G.DMT? There maybe marginal improvement in the SNR..

    1.
    Airtel cc : try on Phone
    2.
    connect the rj11 directly to modem . ( No need for ADSl splitter)
    ( since Telephone is not working)
    Check the contacts are not rusted/blackened/ etc.
    Also try GDMT T413 glite bitswap enabled..
    rest un check.

    its improved a bit for now...

    stats again goin downhill... i just filed a complaint

    just saw that the cable has developed major cracks on the point where it goes down the building from the roof, there is also deposition on the exposed wires...so this suggests that the metal has been exposed too.

    damn they r prompt... a person came and fixed up the wiring temporarily, the stats are now in the normal range, rewiring will b done tomorro.
