Default Problem with Firmware Upgrade of Linksys AM300

After a long gap i went ahead with the firmware upgrade and after the upgrade I started to configure the Linksys AM300 modem it all connected fine and was all good untill it got disconnected.

I thought it was a problem with the Airtel Connection, but when checking with their Beetel Modem it was all fine, the connection was very stable.

I guess the problem has arisen from the Firmware upgrade, previously i had the firmware that came with it preloaded when i actually brought it in 2007.

The few things that i noticed is that right after the upgrade it often was disconnecting and the default DNS server wasn't properly alloted i guess often the Default DNS server was set to 0.0.0.0 despite showing being connected.

I guess someone here would have had a similar problem cause i was late in upgrading the firmware (1.19.04) and hope this problem of mine gets resolved in days to come...

can someone help me with this problem ??

if your modem shows connected and only DNS servers are 0.0.0.0 then setting your DNS servers to opendns in windows ( as mentioned by essbebe) should solve the problem..

I use a wifi and hence there is no need for this to be done i guess..
It works perfectly fine for me without these DNS servers ip

I've attached the the Screenshot for you

I did speak on the Toll Free Number and they have even replaced the Modem But still the problem persists
I guess there is something wrong with the Setup i guess..

I have Both BSNL as well as the Airtel connection for this month, But None of the connection is stable with the AM300 modem and hence nothing could be said about the Connection at all...

I use the Dlink DI-524 Wireless router
Well Airtel never provides any other Modem other than their Beetel Modem.

I bought the AM300 just cause it had more features and is much more stable than all the other Modems available. I was damn happy with the modem untill i upgraded the firmware and its giving me headaches.. and i'm made to use a featureless beetel Modem right now ..

featureless beetel Modem right now ..
    Post "Statistics" ADSL data.
Using one "featureless" Beetel modem 220Bx upgraded to 22oBx1 and now 110Bx1 ( no USB port ). for past two years.

    This Modem's board is common ( including 450Bx adslmodem+router 4 lan +wifi ) to many other models
    issued by BSNL etc.

Spell out the additional options available, which you need
in the Am300 adsl modem before FW UPG/after FW UPG
(and not seen/provided in Beetel models

WEll it had the Option of NAT, DMZ, DDNS, SNMP to name a few in its armoury. I'm sure there isn't anything as stable as this AM300 is..

These features were always part of the AM300 modem
Firmwares are always meant to remove the bugs that users have reported on usage, not like Major revisions of Features et all . It actually ridiculous to ask for additional feature when its not made to work with additional features..

Its similar to asking a x86 processor to behave as the 64-Bit processor

    .

you could have asked in the first place what menu option
you could not access in Beetel 220Bx , in the first place.

Its similar to asking a x86 processor to behave as the 64-Bit processor
Since your comment above shows you belong to a higher plane of "geeks", in this forum, and layman like me
cannot understand this comparison , I should not give further suggestions.

Any way if you explain above x86 ,64 bit , etc I will be "enlightened". Some 'Intel" "AMD" CPU processors etc? .

i am quite happy with the Beetel modem having all the options you have mentioned above. ( in AM300)
