Default Will I get full 2mbps in airtel

    Hi,
I am thinking of taking the Airtel tariff plan of Rs 777, with 200 talktime, 4GB data limit and 2mbps speed.
I would like to know the users of this great forum if they are using this type of connection and if are they getting the full 2mbps speed or atleast anywhere betweeen 1 to 2 mbps.

When I asked the customer care guy, he said you will get close to 1 to 2mbps.
I have been using the 512 kbps connection and I get the full 512 speed and sometimes a little more .

In the new plan, Will I get anywhere between 1 to 2 mbps?? or will it vary further downwards...

    Kindly enlighten me

You can easily expect a speed of 1.5 mbps or more. But be careful of the 4GB limit. It may sound generous but you can easily exhaust it.

    1.5 mbps seems pretty good..
I can download videos (600mb) pretty easily using Limewire with this much speed rite.

For checking download limit, some post in this forum mentioned bout a software available for this, ill check it out

Speed depends upon 3 main factors:
    *Local Exchange
    *Line Condition
    *Distance from the exchange

you can ask the airtel broadband engineer to check maximum stable speed for your line and please note that they will never promise you correct 2Mbps, it is always upto 2Mbps which means that anything below 2Mbps but above 256kbps (broadband standard)

As Just4kix said please take care of your data transfer limit coz this FUP can be painful in some cases, 4GB sounds too much for light users but heavy users can exaust that in one night with 2mbps speed.
