| Platinum Member | Howsoever we may accuse them of springing up surprises (Fair usage and what not) every now and then, i think no other internet service (at least where i live) comes even close to their level of customer service. Trust me, i have tried nearly all available so i have seen them, not blabbering for no reason. For the record, i don't work for Airtel.. ![]() Firstly, there's hardly any downtime ever...so getting a taste of their 'after sales' service is quite a rarity. There's the IGL gas pipeline guys digging up holes in our society these days and the fellows cut Airtel's underground cables here. I filed a complaint at about 5PM yesterday, the guy told me it would be fixed till 12 noon the next day (today), and voila! i got a call from their service rep at 10 AM, and it was fixed at 11:50! Then there was this other occasion a month or two back, the wires leading into my house had been probably chewed up by squirrels and the conn was down. Filed a comp in the morning, told that it would be fixed in 4 hours and sure enough the problem was first temporarily fixed by the technician by the end of only 3 hrs, and a complete rewiring was done the next day as stated by the tech. I find it truly amazing for an Indian brand and it deserves some praise apart from the usual ranting hence this post. Keep up the good work guys... |

| Junior Member | The only time I had to deal with their customer care department was when I wanted to change my plan and sure enough, it was a breeze (specially compared to BSNL/MTNL where you have to physically present yourself at the telephone exchange and submit a form to have the plan changed, which they then do at the beginning of next month). |

| The good thing with private ISPs is that they plan. Where as BSNL and MTNL just implement them, then find out mistakes from repeated customer complaints and may or may not rectify them. Customer care does not exist for PSU ISPs. But these private ISPs are so mean. They completely ignore semi urban areas. As if people in villages are not Indian citizens. I know it is business, but profit is not the only thing. I love Airtel over Vodafone for being an Indian Mutli national. We expect some care in return for this passion. We have to pay a bit extra than BSNL. Imagine, BSNL gives you this rate after their components include bribe amount and towers and lines at non profit zones which private ISPs ignore. It is ok to pay more if you get a polite treatment. I wish they spread their service to more areas. Competition is always healthy. |
