Hi
I have recently changed my old modem to Beetel 450 BXI ADSL2+Router and configured it for my Airtel Broadband connection. Now I am able to connect to the internet via cable in my desktop. When I tried connecting the WI-FI network in my Laptop, I didn't. My Laptop shows my SSID in the available networks area. But when I try to connect it, it says "Unable to connect due to some unknown reasons".

I tried configuring the WAN security as follows.

Case 1:
-------
Network Authentication : Shared
WEP Encryption : Enabled
Also given a WEP key.

In this case, when i try to connect the network from my laptop after reebooting the modem, it is not asking for the password and also not connecting to the network. Again it says "Unable to connect due to some unknown reasons".

Case 2:
-------
Network Authentication : WPA-PSK
WPA Encryption : TKIP
WEP Encryption : Disabled (unable to change it to Enabled)
Also given a WPA Preshared key.

In this case, when i try to connect the network from my laptop after reebooting the modem, it is asking for the password (the WPA Preshared Key) but not connecting to the network. Again it says "Unable to connect due to some unknown reasons".

Can anyone please help me to fix this problem?

Also check Network settings
Wireless Lancard configure
advanced
Options Accesspoint ssid etc.

Thanks for your reply. I already followed the steps as per the details seen in the URL given by you. But unsuccessful.

Whether any settings need to be changed in my laptop? I am using Windows Vista in my laptop.

Hi,

Here I am attaching the screenshots of all the steps that i have made to connect to the wireless network. [pictures naming step1 through step4].

Also attached the screenshots of my modem/router configurations. [settings.zip]

The network is listed but unable to connect to it even after the password is given.

good job posting the screenshots!!makes it a lot more clear to understand.. could you post screenshots of all the pages under WIRELESS in your router like MAC filtering etc..

Hi

Thanks all for your efforts on solving this issue... Finally I got connected to my WI-FI. The problem that i have made is MAC Filter section i selected the option "Allow". After changing it to "Disabled" i got connected.
