    Default speed jumped...!!!

hey something spectacular happened to me last night.....
i am a resident of mumbai and have this airtel brodband bandwidth of 128kbps....i have torrents downloading all the time
bt smethin happened and the speed jumped from th regular 20kBps to 160kBps....man i put sme new torrents too and then went to sleep....
bt sadly in the mornin the download had stopped...though i had dwnloaded quite a bit......
wat i want to know is that is it sheer luck or is there sme way that i can make this happen....!!!

It happen due to bad config files at exchange. No way can speed increase that much for more than 2 hours. They are always renewing the config files which retore your speed to true speed. Your speed is capped always to distribute the bandwidth fairly.

There are trick for uncapping illegally in case of cable & local ISPs using DHCP server but it will get you jailed for 2.5 years . This is not applicable in case of ISP like MTNL , BSNL , Airtel where config files are not touched by user modems or routers. There might be trick for them but most of the available info on DSL uncapping is wrong.
History is on the move,my friends. Those who cannot keep up will be left behind, to watch from distance. And those who stand in its way will not watch at all.

I know why this happened , i called to airtel personnels and asked about the inscrease in speed and then he told me that , it is due to maintainance ,while doing maintainance they put all the broadband on the same ports so for certain period all users get 2 to 3 mbps speed.

If they openly told that it was legal that they got that speed, then i guess it may be marketing strategy
