Default Few doubts about Explorer 1099 plan!!

I have been using Airtel Broadband since it was launched which means it has been 3-4 years now!! and the service is just great!!

Currently I am using home 999 plan which has 384 Kbps speed and unlimited Bandwidth..

Now I plan to shift to Explorer 1099 plan which looks good!! ( Thnx to this forum because from here only I came to know that Airtel has launched new plans)

I have few doubts about the explorer 1099 plan. It would be great if some1 knows abt it already and can answer it.

My city falls under Punjab circle and these are the details of it-

Download Speed * 384 kbps in Day/ 1 Mbps in Night*

Day time is from 6 AM to 10 PM (384 Kbps till 75 GB,256 Kbps beyond 75 GB).Night time is from 10 PM to 6 AM.

    Doubts-

1.) Can we check online how much Bandwidth have we used so we can plan our future usage accordingly??

2.)75 gb DL limit takes into account the data downloaded during day time only or it also takes into account data Downloaded at night time (10 pm- 6am ) !!

3.) It is mentioned that speed will go down to 256 kbps from 384 Kbps after the 75 gb download but nothing is mentioned about the night!! Does it mean that the speed at nights will alwayz remain 1 Mbps??

    Thnx in advance!!

    EDIT-

I have also sent a mail to airtel! Lets see what they reply!

Once you cross the limit of 75 GB, for rest of that month, the speed during the day time will reduce to 256 kbps from 384 kbps. But the speed at night would remain at 1 mbps as usual.

Actually there is no Straight way to check you data usage but you can do one thing is log into airtel Account in that Select Account Info-->then select your DSL number--->Then View Unbilled Amount There you can Select the date and view the amount of downloaded traffic in seconds. But Till no no Direct way to know how much you have used.

There is 75 gb limit. It includes downloading+uploading+browsing+everything. It includes both day usage+night usage.

After 75 gb is reached Day speed will be reduced to 256 kbps while night speed will remain 1 mbps!!

These airtel people are themselves confused abt this FUP!! I have clearly asked about the night speed and he told me that it wont be reduced in any case!! As I am from north India after reading your post I thought plans maybe different in Karnataka as you asked CC bangalore!!

But plan for Karnataka region nowhere mentiones that there is any download limit!! I guess the CC has given you wrong info!!!!

The plan for my region clearly mentions-
Day time is from 6 AM to 10 PM (384 Kbps till 75 GB,256 Kbps beyond 75 GB).Night time is from 10 PM to 6 AM.

Whereas you can check your plan Under Karnataka circle and there is no mention of Bandwidth Cap!!!!!!!!!

i called up cc twice...yesteday i was told tht fup is applicable only for the day and the cap is 75gb after which the speed would be reduced to 256 and the night speed would remain the same but today i got a different story as I mentioned in my previous post. i have emailed cc regarding fup today...lets see what i get in the email. yesteday when i asked about the swift 1099 plan i was told tht its not launched and he didn't know when it would be launched but today the cc told me that its launched and the cap on it is 100gb day and night combined after which the speed would be reduced to 256kbps. cc don't know anything properly and they give wrong information to customers to show that they are well informed even when they are not actually. in april they told me about an offer that ended in the month of march and made me take up that offer . after i paid for the offer i was told that the offer ended in march and that the cc gave me wrong information and they are sorry.

    @ above

Absolutely true!! The CC are themselves confused about the FUP policy and thus they are saying different things!! If the next time they still mention FUP for your plan then simply ask them that why it is not mentioned on website for your region when it is clearly mentioned for other regions and let us know what they reply!

As of today explorer 1099 plan has been removed....confirmed with airtel consent department. they are providing swift 1099...512 kbps day and night...fup 100GB[day+night] after which the speed reduces to 384kbps for the rest of month.

another plan turbo 1299 where you get 512kbps in day and 1mpbs at night...fup 100GB applicable only for the day usage.
i wanted to take explorer 1099 but my bad luck.

No it Is Not Removed as far as i know I just got a call from a Sales Executive stating Do you want the Explorer 1099 plan instead of the current plan of 999 I said i have already Migrated Don't Go by their Airtel.in site Their Explorer 1099 is not Even mentioned only 512Kbps Swift 1099 has been mentioned.

Airtel is making a Mockery of Itself The CC and their Executives themselves don't Know what is Going on.i asked CC yesterday to clarify if 75Gb FUP is applicable to night 1mbps as well or not Damn the CC didn't Even know What FUP was:52:.I was Like What Then He Asked With Some Other CC at last I just banged the Phone Down Since i had Better Info Then He Did i thinkunk:

BTW I asked for plan change 2 days before and I got the confirmation call yesterday asking if I want to shift to explorer 1099 and I said yes......Hopefully after the confirmation call I do get the plan!!! 8-)
