    Default ADSL+Leased Line

    Hi ,

    I have a Airtel ADSL Line + Airtel Leased Line ( ILP ) connection to my office.

    Airtel Broadband ADSL : 1 Mbps

    Airtel Leased Line ( ILP ) : 1 Mbps

    The leased line is connected like this:

    MROTEK ASMi-52 (leased line modem)-> Netgear Router WGR614 -> Netgear Switch/Hub FS608 -> LAN

    ADSL (ITI Modem) -> Netgear Switch/Hub FS608 -> LAN

    The connection from my Leased Line to the Netgear Router WGR614 stops working after a few hours. I think my Netgear Router WGR614 is not configured appropriately with the leased line modem

    Could someone suggest a way to solve this ?

    Thanks

    If the router is working even for 5 minutes then it means that configuration is correct. The router may be overheating and auto-shutting off. There could be problem with the power adapter also.

    Very true , this is a typical overheating issue please make sure that the router is receiving proper ventilation , I had a similar issue with my Beetel ADSL modem , it used to lock up every 2nd day of continuous usage as the chipset would keep overheating , I got soo fed up with it that I ripped it apart took the front and back covers off went to the kitchen , used a hot nail to melt holes into the front cover ,
    now it works non stop for 30 to 45 days at a stretch , I am thinking of hacking it further, maybe adding a few passive heat sinks to the chipsets and a 5 or 12 volt fan .
    Maybe a project for a good weekend. I am not asking you to poke holes in your router , just keep it in front of a fan / in an Air Conditioned room , any modifications done to your router will definitely void any kind of warranty
    I take no responsibility for the outcome of any instructions given here

    problem
    the connection from my leased line to the netgear router wgr614 stops working after a few hours.
    CONNECTION
    (1)MROTEK ASMi-52 (leased line modem)-> Netgear Router WGR614 -> Netgear Switch/Hub FS608 -> LAN
    (2)ADSL (ITI Modem) -> Netgear Switch/Hub FS608 -> LAN
    (1)Presume ADSL modem is DNA211-I.

    (2)Confirm, both modems operate at the same time to different LAN
    ( say LAN1 and LAN2 ) or only one LAN ( number of computers used ?)

    (3) and ITI modem takes over the LAN when wgr614 fails.

    (4) Reason WGR614 is ahead of the switch/hub Fs608.

    Suggestion

    (5) In DNA 211-I
    under management or maintainance
    see menu item Client Tr_069
    Uncheck if enabled.

    Para two :
    A software update is available for DNA211-I

    REF: similar modem for dna211-I
