Very nice. But no connectivity - at least in my area.

    Anyway, happy with BSNL.

After seeing the 2 plans, Swift 1099 & Explorer 1099. I am planing to shift to Airtel. Currently I am using BSNL (750 UL plan).

First I need to check the connectivity. 2 years back when I contacted them, they said there's no connectivity in my area.

But I will wait for some more time, I am hoping BSNL will bring in some new plans (unlimited)...But when...Le me wait & watch...

Explorer 1099 is better for me than swift 1099 as I can DL a movie faster at nights and my laptop would have to be switched on for relatively low time!!

Moreover I access internet mostly at night!!

Yes, I have this connection. I just upgraded my 512kbps UNLIMITED DOWNLOADS to this.
I am getting download speeds of 100-120 kbps, if needed, I can post screenshots.

    Thanks.

Check out the tariff in Airtel website: Here you go

But first call the Airtel CC (080-44444121) or mail (care.karnataka@airtel.in) them to confirm whether the Airtel connectivity is there in your area.

Thank you Rameshjeee,at the moment i have Rs2222 1Mb Unlimited plan(with their recent cap on d/l limit).

The Rs1699 scheme similar in terms of speed but download limit and pricing is very good...will they down grade their own existing plan?

I do not find the plan (Rs 2222 ; 1 Mbps Unlimited) in the Airtel website. The only plan with 1 Mbps Unlimited is Freedom 1699 plan. (Rs 1699)

May be from coming month you will be charged Rs 1699 + tax. Confirm with the CC.

Airtel is notorius for not downgrading plans automatically. I was a victin once when the 999 plan was upgraded to 384 kbps and 256 kbps downgraded to 750. They kept me at 999/256 kbps for three months because I was not aware of the changes!!! It took me another 3 months and an e mail to Snil Mittal before I got a refund! Please call the CC and immediately ask for a plan change.

Another thing is that the 1699 is not 100 but 200 more the earlier 512 kbps plan (1499 since I am using it!)

Hi - I am planning to shift from Reliance to this. Could you tell me if the transition from 384kbps to 1Mbps at 10 pm is automatic or do you have to log out and then login again for the speed change to take effect? (I was looking at the BSNL forum and they seem to have something like this for their dual speed unlimited plans)
If the changeover is automatic, then it should be perfect!
