Now I needed some Help Guys I wanted to know Which Plan to Go For Explorer 1099(384kbps/1mbps night) Or Swift 1099(512Kbps day/ 512kbps night as far as i know)

If you are heavy downloader then you can go for the Explorer 1099 plan so that you can put all your downloads @ night. & in the explorer 1099 plan, sunday full day the speed will be 1 mbps which is not available in the swift 1099 plan.

As stated above , it purely depends on your usage , for Delhi as u stated as well u have a bandwidth cap at the Day time of 75 GB .

Ask yourself the following questions .

    1) How much do I download & Upload in a month ? [I log on to the Airtel website and check my unbilled usage ]
    2) Do I keep my system on 24x7 ? if YES , will I cross the 75 GB (Upload + Download) Limit in the Day time ?
    3) By the way , does the Swift 1099 plan have 100 GB bandwidth cap or is it cap free ?
4)If the Swift 1099 Plan is cap free then you have to bargain between speed and no cap to decide which one of the 2 plans are best for u , if both have bandwidth caps and you primarly surf the net / download during the night time then choose Explore 1099 .
    5) Just to tell you why I switched to Explore 1099 , check the screenshot below .

Even I have shifted to Explore 1099 plan today!! Yay!! have made the request today hope the plan is changed by tomorrow night!!

Here is what the CC told me which I also believe is correct-

There is 75 gb limit. It includes downloading+uploading+browsing+everything. It includes both day usage+night usage.

After 75 gb is reached Day speed will be reduced to 256 kbps while night speed will remain 1 mbps!!

It Looks Good On Speed Test but I am having Problems It almost took 15-17minutes to Download a 100Mb file so You can Say i am not even Getting 1mbps ATM.Airtel Engineer Came to my House Yesterday since i complained about some Problem He Changed the Modem Stating SNR problems And He Told if problem Persists i tell he will have to check the Line.

I am thinking could the bad Download Speed be Linked with some Faulty Cabling.

^1mb[bits]ps=1024kbps=[1024/8]KBps=128KB[Bytes]ps..is the max download speed for 1mbps connection. u shld be able to download 450MB in an hour with 1Mbps connection...100Mb in 15 min is pretty good. i'm also goona change to explorer 1099 plan as i'll get 384kbps[48KBps] from 6am to 10pm n 1Mbps[128KBps] from 10pm to 6am n also 1mbps throughout sunday. swift 1099 is also good but can download more with explorer 1099 plan...but has a cap of 75 gb.

Hi.I just called the call centre about the fair usage plan. They said it applies to night usage too.Though the lady answering my call sounded quite ignorant about the new plans.I'm hoping its just her mistake and the 75gb usage is only for day usage!I'll call later and hope there's someone more knowledgeable who picks up!

I just switched to the explorer 1099 plan. After at least 3 calls to customer care,I understand the FUP works like this:
For daytime use,the limit is 75gb,after which speed reduces to 256kbps for the rest of the billing cycle
For nighttime use,the limit is 100Gb,after which speed reduces to 512kbps.
Usage is defined as 'total usage',ie,both download and upload.
A heavy user who downloads throughout 10pm-6am would easily cross the 100gb limit total usage in 18-20 days.So this really sucks!

TV Series , Movies , Documentries , Games , Sirji , I used to average out at 200 GB (Upload + Download / month on the 888 Plan , 256 Day / 512 Nite) god only knows how much i'll be averaging out on the new Explore 1099 plan !!! , I guess that the whole point of moving to a faster connection is so that you can download more !!! :stuart:

CC told me that on the Turbo 1299 plan here in Pune if you cross the 100GB daytime limit then the speed will be rationed throughout the day and night by 50% (256 Kbps Day / 512 Kbps Night) . It will be reset the next month . However I highly recommend that you send an official email with your query to wecare.west@airtel.in for conformation .
