    Default Freedom 1699

I currently have BSNL 500 C+ and use 75GB/month. I wanted to switch over to the Freedom 1699 plan. I've never used Airtel before and want to know about what speed you actually get and extra charges. Since the plan offers 1 Mbps unlimited, I will be able to download more than 200GB/month. Does the plan really offer unlimited download or is there some hidden cap or FUP? And what upload speeds are offered?

all plans are exclusive of tax...other than this there are no extra charges on unlimited plans and there is FUP on all the unlimited plans except 256kbps.

The FUP cap is there and is 100GB So if you are thinking of downloading 200Gb i guess 100GB at 1mbps then the later 100GB at 512kbps That's what airtel has in stock for you ATM.So better stick with BSNL if you are asking about speed there is no problem with airtel you will get speed for 1mbps from 128KB/s to 140KB/s.

where do u live ? Check the link below for plan details based on your location .

I am a former BSNL user , I can assure you that when it comes to uptime & speed you can count on Airtel any day , if your connection ever goes down , which is very rarely does , the Airtel guys have an SLA (Service Level Agreement) of 4 hrs , if they cannot resolve the issue within that time frame , you get 1 days cost waved off from your bill .

When it comes to Uptime , Customer Service , Resolving BB Issues , there's no other ISP that can beat Airtel , I have called up BSNL tech support , I know what an absolute nightmare it is, at best , At Best , some old guy would answer your call and ask you to restart your machine , phew !!! , you are making the right decision , don't trust me or anyone else , do your research , check the poles , reviews , and make an informed decision .

I live in Chennai. For 2 Mbps BSNL I get only 200 KB/s on torrents and 210 KB/s on normal downloads. And are you sure there is FUP on Freedom 1699? How can I find out?

    yes,

there is a FUP limit of Freedom 1699 plan and it's at 100GB. You download beyond that and your speed will be reduced to 512 kbps. You can confirm this by calling customer care.

and the speeds are good. DL > 900kbps and UL >800kbps. I've been using this for the last 3 weeks and it's working well so far.
