Smile Superb suggestion in this forum solved my broadband problem...

Hi All,

First i am really say thanks to all members this forums where my airtel broadband connection problem solved....not by engineers..just few suggestions from this forum..

hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrahhhhhh...

yahooooooooooooooooo..

Actually i took airtel broadband connection 5 days before with 1299 turbo plan..for the first 3 hours installation it worked properly ..then from that time..i had frequent discconection happening ..that is every 30 seconds. the connection will go off and again it will reconnect..like that..

I gave so many complaints to airtel, they changed the wiring, pairing, splitter, every thing...

but nothing worked out...

I was really frustated at these things..thought of getting rid of this...

JUST NOW I HAD A GOOGLE SEARCH..WHERE IN THIS FORUMS FOUND THAT CHANGING ADSL MODE TO GDMT WILL DO WONDERS...

THATS TRUE INDEED..JUST AS A TRIAL, I CHANGED FROM "AUTOSYNC
WHICH WAS DEFAULT TO GDMT MODE

WITH THAT MY PROBLEMS GOT OVER...now i see very stable connection like a miracle..

for a test again..i changed it back to ADSl + mode and YOU KNOW AGAIN MY MODEM STARTED DINGLING AFTER 30 SECOND AND CONNETION IS NOT STABLE..

so again changed it back to GMDT..It started working....
no disconnections..for hours...

But when i look at snr margins...at gmdt mode

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 8.0 6.0 db
Line Attenuation : 11.5 11.0 db

Maximum download speed goes upto 125 kbps

when checking at mode of ADSL +

Downstream Upstream
SNR Margin : 8.0 101.0 db
Line Attenuation : 11.5 14.0 db

But here download speed is very good max of 179 kpbs constant
with very frequent disconnections for every 20 seconds.

Hope this information can help people who facing frequent disconnection problems..

Can somebody assess whether snr is ok...

Regards
Onenessboy

Thank you. I am glad the problem has been sorted out.

Your downstream SNR margin is just about OK - slightly low. But if you are not facing issues, then no worries. Your Line attentuation is low and that is excellent.

Refer this thread: SNR Margin and Line Attenuation - What do they mean?

Default snr...

Hi

thanks for info..i just activated my forum account...

the thing people say that if you have snr if more then 20 then that is very good..but looking at my statics, you said it is very low...

i saw in some forums that above 20 db is possible inly in abroad where they get good snr margins...is this right..

what is maximum snr i can get for 1 mbps connection...( i mean my plan) 512 kpbs in morning and 1 mbps in nights..

any insights highly appreciated...

thanks much

The SNR margin and Line attenuation does not depend upon your plan. It depends upon the quality of the incoming line, distance from the exchange, etc.

I have BSNL connection and I get consistent 26~32 db as the SNR marging. My attenuation rate is slightly high at 35~40.

Check this thread for some details: My interactions with BSNL

My SNR values are posted in this guide: UT300-R2U Ver 2.2 - Guide for setting up

If your modem/router is Beetel
check under Maintenance/mangement
menu item
Client TR-069
disable this . also "SOAP"
Airtel ( ISP) accesses your modem remotely and updates connections etc.
Use all phones AFTER the ADSL splitter.
Call Airtel CC to check corrosion/blackened contacts etc in their junction box.
Use short Rj11 cables.
Code:
IF IT WORKS DON'T REPAIR !
