Exclamation How to use BSNL's WA3002g4 wireless model with Airtel broadband in gurgaon

    hi,

I purchased UT starcom's WA3002g4 modem from BSNL. Now i have shifted to my home at Gurgaon where i want to use this router with airtel broadband.

The airtel supports refused set the modem for me and now i am asking your help.

PLEASE give me a step by step help to change the settings in the modem.

I have already changed the VCI details to 1/32 but no luck..
The internet light does not glow along with the DSL and WAN lights.

    Default Thnks but.......

Thanks for the support, but my configuration does not work after changing the VPI VCi setting as required by Airtel.

Do i need to change any IP setting for static IP which was assigned to me or for DHCP server setting etc.

1.Are you sure you got a static IP from Airtel ?
2.How do you connect ? "Dialer" mode " ( "bridged")
or "AlwaysOn" ppp/ PPPoE mode. Change to later.
    3. Copy/Paste this data here.
    Start RUN type cmd OK
    New window
    type ipconfig /all

    Default Ip

I used beetle 22obx, and lan wire to access internet, the laptop had to be set with these settings:
    192.168.1.27
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.1.1
    and the gateway as
    202.56.215.54
    202.56.215.55

the beetle modem had these device info

    LAN IP Address: 192.168.1.1
    MAC Address: 00-08-5C-54-EE-33
    Default Gateway: 202.56.215.135
    Primary DNS Server: 202.56.215.54
    Secondary DNS Server: 202.56.215.41

You are not given a static ip.
Connect to Internet with Beetel 220BX
    Check your IP.
    Current IP Check
Switch off modem and try again.
    the IP would have changed.

2.This shows that you are using a "dialer" to connect
    to Internet.
    Default Gateway: 202.56.215.135
2.In the link given by me , there is Chennai site with
screen shots. and many other links.
Just follow the same and keep vpi/vci as 1 32 for Airtel.
    3. Or try this. Keep Beetel 220Bx settings as standby.
Reset Wa 3002-g4 ( reset access near bottom right leg small round hole or in the rear micro switch with a ball pen refill))
with power on for 20 to 30 seconds . Factory defaults.
    4. Use the dialer to connect . LAN mode.
    5. Give feedback.

    Smile Solved

thnkx essbebe. My PPPoE was showing status as down, the support staff suggested to shut down the modem for 10 minutes with power cable disconnected and try.
After two three trials the it got online and the net worked.

    Congrats. Thanks for the feedback.
If you can, save the present settings of the router.
See under Menu item Management or /Maintenance.
