Hi All,

I'm in bangalore and looking for broadband connection and got some doubts on Airtel's Fair Usage Policy (airtel.in/applications/xm/BroadBandISDPdf/Fair_Usage_Policy.pdf)

1. Any one noticed the download limit ?
2. Is Airtel charging extra after crossing the download limit ?
3. Average monthly cost (when phone is not used, just want to know any hidden charges) ?
4. Can I buy router outside? Please suggest of Router model.

Hi All,

I got the following reply from Airtel customer care. Hope it will be used for someone.

The download limit for FUP on "Swift 1099" plan is 100GB.

There are no extra charges when the user crossed the limit under FUP
plan.But the speed will be reduced to half.(e.g 512 kbps will be reduced to
256 kbps) till the next billing cycle.

You can use your own modem but the registration charge of Rs.500 is
applicable.

3. Do I need to purchase a Modem/Router compulsory from Airtel / Shall I
use my own (still need to pay Installation charges)?
