Rep Power: 0 | Thanks for your reply . I am already browsing the net from Windows XP . The Airtel people (they dont know actually ) out here were not able to configure the internet in Red Hat Linux release 4 (RHEL 4) which was my primary requirement I tried configuring my ethernet from the GUI prompt but in vain since it is asking details such as adapter name ( like 3CCOM 3C5.. & some ethernet adapters name ), IRQ and so on which i am not familiar with. Please let me know how should I proceed . |

Rep Power: 16 | From Google search : RHEL4 network settings. http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/enterprise/RHEL-4 -Manual/sysadmin-guide/ch-network-config.html .I feel in modem ,there is no change in settings. |

Rep Power: 16 | Check the lan adapter name with XP OS in TCP/IP properties. May be realtek etc. |
