    ok. NOW CHECK SNR
Did you apply SAVE and wait for 2 minutes ?
    later try GDMT or Adsl2

    2. distance to Exchange ? SNR related .
Better walk and find out the distance !
    or
The distance is measured as the Crow Flies !
No surety crow will fly direct !
    Assumed shortest direct aerial Distance.
But the cables may be coming from different ways.
max distance allowed say 10 KM. for BB working.

Yes i applied save and waited for 20 mins..

and there is no option ADSL type for "Anneure A"

    There's

    Annex A
    Annex I
    Annex A/L
    Annex M
    Annex A/I/J/L/M

    For ASDL type

    2) Honestly, I don't know where the nearest airtel telephone exchange, but as my Line Attenuation is Very low, i think its somewhere near.

The problem of disconnection in most cases is this:

1)SNR is below 15 downstream /telephone line fault. The telphone guy told me this when he was checking as there are cases when the internet also gets disconnected.
    or
    2)firmware needs update

I had an old beetel 220 wired modem which used to disconnect alot and finally the techguy updated the firmware and it worked fine.

Later I got an IPTV connection so the telephone guy first checked the connection to make sure the SNR was above 15 upstream/downstream.I never got the upstream to 15 but downstream was around 28.

The engineer said that the connection was fine for IPTV.I haven't encountered any real issue as of yet but if I do will do that.

NOTE:Ask the telephone guy to check all points,if you have internal wiring of telephone. The tech/engineering guy doesn't know any thing about the telephone line issues, his work starts after the telephone/linesman guys work finishes.

    Cheers!!!

So i called the Airtel Technician about the disconnection last Friday, and so he came on Saturday but he still couldn't find the problem even after bringing his superior and checking the telephone lines outside.

    Yesterday, i called them again,
So another technician came here today morning and analyzed the problem, he then changed the modem From 110TC1 to 110BX1 and then he logged onto his yahoo mail from which he got an attachment which he used to update the Modem.

so Far, i haven't encountered any disconnection problem and now my SNR margin is 30.1 downstream while the 10.0 upstream..

The reason the Technician gave for the freqent disconnection was the SNR margin being below 10.

Good. If you can save present settings of modem
    Check under Tools)
    to say C:/My Documents/Beetel110BX1 replaced.

I am using same modem for past one year, and will not ask for the so called "latest" TC1 !

I cant find any save setting under tools. The only thing i see under it is the "ping and trace route".

Anyway I'm not going to alter any of its settings so i dont think i have to do that now.

    check under "Maintenence". "Management"
I made a mistake. hope correct menu now.

    Management Settings - Backup
Backup DSL router configurations. You may save your router configurations to a file on your PC.
