Default What is the speed of AIRTEL internet through GPRS?

I have a NOKIA 3230 phone and an AIRTEL prepaid connection. I am
using GPRS for internet but i am getting only low speed about 25-40 kbps. What is the problem.Phone with edge is supporting upto 80kbps.

Youy should be expecting more speed .With GPRS and a plan of Rs 500 you get max speed of 30kbps.

An airtel customer care guy once told me over the phone that airtel caps the gprs speed at 100kbps so even with edge you wont get more then 100kbps speed.

GPRS speed can be calculate in Ucweb browser. Download it from wap.ucweb.com

in pc it shows that you are connected at 460.2kbps. It means that ur handset has the capability to browse at max of 460kbps.

In my area Airtel is fast which give me download speed of 27kbps that means 216kbps browsing speed. In night times its seems to exceed. However Airtel is Indias leading network provider. They used advance techonology for better assistance. They send GPRS speed of 57.5kbps or more of downloading which means 460kbps or more of browsing speed. The main thing is that the handset should compatible for those speed. Nokia handset which class 32 gprs perform the highest speed...

However Airtel transfer its INTERNET speed max at 50mbps.. Which may be different in different catagory i.e. Broadband, Datacard, mobile....

    Thanks

    thanks for your important quote..

So you are telling the information of edge speeds right.. thats impressive speed for mobile dial up..

well as your device becomes expensive so becomes its net sucking power.. it will give more speeds and so you will get nice experience.. i have seen this with all networks.. that when you change the mobile phone, most of the experience changes..

about other airtel internet mediums., i have always being satisified with their services. but they overcharge, just like reliance, but still we can pay for that...

airtel is known to be a good net for gamers and torrentzers..
