    Lightbulb Airtel - 220BX1 - WRT54G2 - Setup and Port forwarding

    Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum, but I have read the rules and I just hope that I am not breaking any of them by making this topic.

I have been using Airtel broadband from quite a time now. Some months back my usb modem was replaced, and the Airtel guy installed Beetel 220BX1. So yesterday I decided to make my home wifi-ed. I bought a Linksys WRT54G2. Initially I just set it up and made no special settings changes, just connected 220bx1's output to internet port of wrt54g2 and my pc to "1" port of wrt54g2 by lan cable. The setup ran, and the internet is working fine.

But when I ran utorrent, it was showing problem in network. It figures out that the port it uses is not forwarded properly. I tried then many permutations and combinations of the methods described on forum and internet but still after doing the "Static IP", "NAT - Virtual server" thing in 220bx1 and "Port range forward" in wrt54g2... nothing has changed. Still wherever i check, it says the port is not forwarded.

Please help me out, what am I doing wrong?

Btw, i didnt change anything regarding all that PPoe and bridging, etc.

    Suggestion 1:
If you are on Dialer Mode , change over to
"Always on" PPPoE mode ( username/PW to be entered in modem wan page etc )
    OR
    Suggestion 2:
    Change RJ45 a LAN port of WRT54G2.

    Suggestion 3 :
Please check forum "Broadband How to...."
forum for guides by @ Just4kix
( you may not get the exact combination, but procedure is same )
    Suggestrion 4:
    Check in Portforward.com for Beetel220Bx
    uTorrent.

Thanx essbebe, but no thanx, coz I had already tried that.

But I just solved the prob., the thing was in the "virtual servers" settings of 220bx1 i had entered the internal ip to be the ip of the wrt54g2 which is local to itself(i dont know the exact term for this, but i know the concept), instead what i had to enter was the ip of wrt54g2 which was local to 220bx1. So the problem's solved now... took 2 days of reading guides and articles!

And if any other user wanna know anything about these routers, feel free to ask me. Thanx for the reply!

Need some help plz. Got myself an Asus 520GU (DHCP mode) and flashed it with Tomato 1.27
I'm on an Airtel connection with a Beetel 110Bxi modem(PPPoE mode).
I have set up the beetel (on 192.168.1.1) to portforward to the Router on 192.168.0.1 and set up Portforward in the router running tomato to portforward to my PC on 192.168.0.155, but the port isn't open! I've tried putting the 110Bx in Bridge mode and the router in PPPoE mode but that does't work at all. The router cannot connect to the modem, it just keeps showing "connected..."
So please help me forward my port.
    Thanks for your help!

I can't say for sure as I have not used the router you mentioned, but I had kinda the same problem. If its that then I suppose instead of portforwarding to the router on 192.168.0.1, you should try 192.168.1.2, as this was the mistake I was making as my router's ip with respect to beetel was 192.168.1.2 as beetel's ip is 192.168.1.1 and then next ip assigned to router by DHCP is 192.168.1.2.

If that doesn't work out, then instead of running router in DHCP mode, use static IP mode and assign the ip 192.168.1.2 to it.

    Do tell if it worked.
