Exclamation Airtel Night Unlimited (798NU) plan not discount NIGHT usages in Unbilled Usage

From this billing cycle (26-Dec-09), my unbilled usage is showing even the night usages. So since I download at night (10-8), my usage is showing like 5GB in just these 4 days. Earlier I used to see every night there was a session start at 10:11 whcih had charge = Rs. 0 .. whcih used to assure me what my real day time usage was (limit is 5GB).

But now, Airtel is saying they don't have access to unbilled usage and all benefit will be applied after the billing cycle. But how is it possible, considering, one must know what his real (non night) downloads are so that he uses internet accordingly (to keep it within the 5GB limit). They must consider/deduct the night usages from their unbilled calculation.. right ?

Or is it just a temporary technical issue ?

And WHY the hell airtel doesn't show the end-time of a session ? My MTNL used to show that I think !

I also had the same problem long back.
After I threatened to discontinue the connection, customer retention cell , I think, referred the matter to Bangalore,
and My NU 0900PM to 0800 (old top up schemes)is neither shown in selfcare page nor available in printed bill now.
Usually they add up everything , and then deduct night usage, creating all complications.

send email to nodal officer copy to care. xxx, and in self care page also make a complaint.
I think, they can easily set the usage meter to
    record only upto 1000PM.
Now BSNL has also done the same way.
Mostly, Users don't see NU, but it is still recorded.

    PARA TWO:
IF Fair Usage Policy is applicable to your plan, then all usage data will be recorded.
    EXAMPLE:
    Say day usage limit ( 1 GB ?) + NU 40 GB ( check)
any in excess of 41GB in day as well as night will be charged.

But I am hoping this to be a temporary technical issue because in the last month (my first month of airtel broadband) I DID SEE the night charges show as Rs ZERO !

I have sent mails with their care center, opened 2 tickets with the technical team that are still in process and yes, i was going to send an email to their MH nodal officer as well. But still, I still think all these should be just their "unbilled usage calculation program" forgot/missed/errored-out to subtract the night usages...and hope that it will be automatically fixed in the next day when unbilled usage is recalculated...

And, my night usage is UNLIMITED as far as I know.. no limit of 40GB or anything I believe! But I will check again

And I just checked and reconfirmed, my NIGHT unlimited is TRUE unlimited. However, the fair usage policy applies and if my usage is too much at night they will put a CAP on the my speed... but they will never make me charge for my downloads at night EVEN if I download 200GB !

i have the same plan, & its possible to download only around 2.3 GB per month from 10 to 8. So max download per month would be around 75 GB if we download everynight

Were you responding my 200GB comment ? Come on, that's just a way of saying ! Guess your 2.3GB is just the calculation of x mbps speed * nigth hours ?

Anyway, if you have that plan, pls just tell me whether you see an entry of Rs. 0 every night (starting around 10)... thats all I want to know. And if possible, PLEASE send me a screenshot of your unbilled usage to simantadattaz@yahoo.com ! Please !

I have combo 499 + top up Rs 99/= with speed upto 2 Mbps 1 GB day download and Rs200 free calls plus NU free at 2 Mbps speed between 9 P.M and 8 A.M as an old ( more than three years ) Airtel user.
Not available now. I cannot change the tariff plan now , and if i change Free Nu facility is lost!

    2. I also did not like the NU to be shown in self care page and after threatening disconnection, Customer Retention cell , informed Bangalore office. They called me and siad " It is so simple" and and since then my night usage is not shown. ( for the past one year
    .
    3. For instance if I use say 1500 MB in a month, the selfcare page will show 1500MB x 80 paise = Rs 1200/= ( all approx for illustration )
In printed bill Rs 1200/= will be shown. Then a deduction of Rs 800/=
So only extra Rs 400 plus taxes will be charged ( fixed Rs 598/= plus taxes )
    5.
    You can use Shaplus meter1.3
and check/keep track of your day usage.
ShaPlus Bandwidth Meter by ShaPlus Software 1.3. Download and information on ShaPlus Software.
The meter will be disabled between say
2100P.M and 0800A.M ,or whatever time you set.
If you use VOIP ( Vonage etc ) or
on wifi network with additional computers, it cannot record all systems. ( VOIP cannot be recorded but average 1 MB / minute.)
Also gives more details. tautology BW meter.

    Feedback.
PS: Sorry. I had replied earlier also. Please ignore this post except for 5.

Just wanted to update that Airtel resolved the issue for me.

Had to send an ugly mail to their zonal officer and they got the issue fixed by their technical team..took 20 days for the issue to fix. My billing was on hold till then.

And now, all my night usages show Rs. 0 in the "Unbilled Usage" page without even having to turn off my modem. But I still do that sometimes when I have heavy downloads
