Thread: Disconnection

I have Freedom 1699 plan. For example, when I start some download and go to sleep and then wake up, I find that the download has stopped after a short while and internet connectivity is not available. When I switch off and switch on router, problem is solved. Same thing happens when I'm playing games sometimes. It suddenly gets disconnected from the server. What can I do?

call ur lineman and say him to check ur line.there may be errors.

Modem is Beetex 110BX1.

TRY.You may disable TR-069 client
appearing in Menu Management.

Attenuation is high. Check connectors for oxidization/rusting/blackening etc. use short Rj11 cables.

are you connected via LAN or USB?

LAN. My router has only Ethernet connection. No USB. And should I ask Airtel for better upload speed? I have 1Mbps download, but only about 400Kbps upload.

So do I just call CC and say I'm having frequent disconnection problems and I want to get my line checked?

well same here, airtel net is getting disconnected but like once every half hr << but it really freaks me out when i download from rapidshare/mU as a free user.

I use the software "Advanced Net Speed up". It pings the websites and thus Internet does not disconnect automatically.
Try it. Works for me.

i had the problem about a year back , someone came over and upgraded the modem's firmware ..

its not supposed to happen , so if you are having a problem , its their job to fix it

using pinger option helps. but in this there is backup option is there.
take back up and do the next, in case any trouble you can restore to previous settings of your choice.

1) Get your line checked by lodging a complain with CC [From your post i can see that you have done this already]

2) Use PPPoE Mode [In case the connection drops the modem redials automatically every 30 seconds, Not Recommended for Plans with limited Bandwidth cap ]

3) A faulty splitter between the modem and your phone equipment , do you hear any buzzing / hissing sounds when you pick up the receiver or when you talk with people ?

4) The BeeTel ADSL Modem has a problem of locking up when the power goes out , turning it off and back on usually gets u back online [just a thought]

5) If the issue is not obvious , like the lineman states that the line is fine and the signal strength till your junction box is good, then it could be that the modem is overheating causing your modem to hang . I had this problem before with the BeeTel ADSL modem, it used to lock up ever 10 hours or so , I did a firmware upgrade but that didn't help , turns out that it was an overheating issue , so i took it apart [there are 4 screws at the back] took the front cover to the gas burner , and poked holes using a hot nail , broke the designer Vents at the back of the modem from the inside using a flat head screw driver, and now it works like a cool cucumber, I can go days without turning off my modem

5) I honestly don't think that installing any so called speed boosting software is a permanent solution to your disconnection issue !

No Stupid Modem Required ? , what exactly are you trying to imply here ?
Airtel is a pretty good ISP in terms of connection stability and CS !

weirdly enough , after a long time of the modem working fine , i started having the disconnection issues again last week

called airtel , someone came over the next day , checked the setting for a few minutes, the net was working fine at that time .. but i told him it disconnects every few hours

asked him to replace the modem .. got a different 220bx and a new adapter .. working fine since then ..


oh and i wouldnt advise drilling any holes into the modem
i got mine replaced without any hassle .. i dont think it wouldve been that easy if i had holes in them
