Thread: modem/line problem

Hello,

I am using airtel and I have been having a problem with my internet recently, it wasn't working at all so I called up a technician from my isp. He changed the settings and updated the firmwire of my modem. Since then my internet is working fine but suddenly I am having disadvantage in all the games which I play. So I decided to do a test on pingtest.net, there I always get A grade or atleast B. But since that technician updated my firmwire and changed the settings the grade is always coming F. I googled this problem and I found that this is mostly caused because of a problem in line or modem, I checked the lines but all the lines are tightly connected. I suspect that this is a problem in my modem or something in the settings is causing this. My modem is a beetel 220 bx adsl +2 modem. Please help

Does your speed also dropped or it just ping time?
Post your pingtest result screenshot, pingtest with google & yahoo & post it here.

just remove http:// from your link which you are trying to post.

or give spaces between http or www.

I highly suspect that the technician uploaded the wrong firmwire for my modem. Can anyone give me the download link for a beetel 220 bx modem firmwire?

Please open 192.168.1.1 admin password
Then type 192.168.1.1/look.html
Copy /paste the page here.
( Ignore the fonts)
Your Firmware version will be shown.

2. Change to GDMT Uncheck ADSL2+
3.Use Opendns 208.67.220.220 and 8.8.8.8
4. Recheck ping etc.
5. feedback.

I think I just found out about the problem. They have probably changed my port,route to a lower quality due to their bandwidth issues. When I ping those servers during 1-2 am I get a very low latency,I also did another pingtest during the nightime after 12:00 and I got an excellent result :

But during the daytime its still very poor as usual. I guess that they are not going to change my port and I will have to change my isp or migrate to a better plan. When I spoke to the customer care guy he says that he cannot do anything about latency problems and kept asking me again and again about my internet speed.

@essbebe: I already have adsl 2+ unchecked and I am still getting high latency on those servers.
