Thread: Should I shift to Airtel?

I've been using bsnl dataone since 5 yrs now and recently its started sucking too much like frequent disconnections, slow speed. I also need to upgrade my modem/router as its also acting up and i need wifi.

So instead of sticking with bsnl and buying a new modem myself, I've thought of going with Airtel's 699 plan - 384kbps upto 15gb and then 256kbps unlimited.

1) Does Airtel provide 1:1 ratio for download:upload speed?

2) Does airtel give dynamic ip or static ip?

3) Can I expect good speed as per the plan? I mean if its 384 kbps, can i expect 340 kbps atleast always? When BSNL is good, it gives quite good speed like 230 kbps for 256kbps plan.

4) What make/model of modem/router do they provide these days? And is it good for online gaming? (My current huawei mt800 makes playing CS a PITA.)

i have been using Airtel from past one year and overall review- best.

Yes you can expect 1:1 ration, Airtel provides good upload speed and download. If you are on 384 kbps connection, expect 400 kbps.

Airtel always provides more speed, i.e i have 512 kbps, but i usually get 600 to 700 kbps with 70kbps download speed on torrents, and 80 on direct link.

Switch to Airtel << its the best.

BTW Airtel provides dynamic IP.
