Unhappy IP address conflict when using Windows 7.

Modem : UTStarcom wa3002g1 (from previous connection of BSNL)

Using Wi-fi connection to connect 3-4 Notebooks to the Internet through the Modem in the PPPoE Mode.

There is always an IP conflict whenever a Windows 7 based Notebook is connected. Limited connectivity or no Internet Access Message on all the Computers.

Issue doesn't occur when using Windows XP or Ubuntu Operating System.

I've already set the static IPs in all the Computer's TCP/IP Properties. DNS servers set as OpenDNS.

Any ideas?

1.
Please Change to: Obtain IP address automatically.
in all computers /laptops
2.
Presume you have enabled DHCP in router.
3. If UpNP option available in router enable it .

Okay, I'll try it after reaching home...

Forgot to mention that the issue gets resolved for sometime after turning OFF and then turning ON the modem. However, after sometime same thing happens again.

Default Resolved | IP address conflict when using Windows 7

I forgot to update this thread. My issue got resolved as soon as I set the TCP/IP property to obtain the IP address automatically. Thanks to all.

I never recommend people to set static IP addresses to their machines.

1. Always set DHCP=ON in the modem/router.
2. If you must set the DNS to OpenDNS or Google DNS, set the values in the modem/router.
3. On all machines, always set "Obtain IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS automatically"
