I M using Reliance, never used airtel before but Reliance has no Fair Usage Policy or anything as such, M on 1Mbps Unlimited plan@ Rs.1099 per month and it's more than enough for my needs, I would suggest you go for Reliance, call 1800-3000-7777 toll free for bookings.

location I've specified underneath my profile name..I live in Chennai, KKNagar. Am planning to invest RS1000 maximum. ORiginally budget from dad was RS 1300 for any UL scheme but after those stringent FUPs he has reduced his budget to RS 1000 for a nice UL scheme with good speed which makes youtube viewing and downloading speeds reasonably tolerable..

    Your options:

    1. BSNL EVDO Unlimited at 650
    2. UL1100 new FUP plan from BSNL. 2 Mbps till 10 GB then 256 Kbps.
    3. Two Home 500 c + connections

Tks for the suggestions but I have some pts to make..

    1. BSNL EVDO Unlimited at 650
I already know abt this but CDMA technology is not yet proven. From my reasearch I found out that for some of the current users the browsing speeds fluctuates violently bet 300KBps and 3.1 MBps..also the signal largely depends upon several other factors like proximity to CDMA tower, etc etc.. In my place ie. KKnagar, Chennai there is a cdma tower. still I dont wanna go for evdo.

Also in my house dad, mom and myself will be simultaneously sharing the same broadband connection and working parallely in our laptops and desktop. BUt EvDO is a single user USB modem. And am not techy savy enough to understand the nuances of making a software based wifi hotspot using connectify or any other method. I feel I don't want to take so much of such trouble and also am not confident enough if I can configure such stuff myself..also connectify is for win 7. Mine is Win XP Pro so once again its a big headache.

also if suppose I buy a hardware router to bypass all these troubles once again that'll add up to my overhead cost. Also I heard from evdo forums that the CDMA signal and hence the browsing speed largely depends on the altitude of placement of wifi router.

    2. UL1100 new FUP plan from BSNL. 2 Mbps till 10 GB then 256 Kbps.

But instead of this BSNL scheme I can rather go for impatience 1099 airtel scheme which gives me 4MBps browsing speed upto 12GB and 256KBps after that..so obviously airtel's one is better right?

    3. Two Home 500 c + connections
This is a very nice suggestion buddy But am not too sure if Dad can digest if I say this to him..anyway I'll try..

But is there any other better solution? High speed+UL+reasonable FUP????

2nd one that you told is good but try 3rd one too as It costs you aroung Rs. 1100/ month and you can get more than 160 GB/month of download with 3 GB/month day limit. It is for very very heavy downloading.

    @Gaggan
yes I'll truly consider the 3rd suggestion in addition to considering the 2nd option. But my only worry is BSNL's broadband plans are all bundled with landline telephones as well which have a rental..I know Home 500c+ does not have a rental but overall when I add the sum total cost of all the 2 connections (ie. rentals of home 500 + tax for both + etc + etc) I am a bit worried if Dad will accept that as it will be well above RS 1100 am sure.

But instead if I go for airtel's RS1099, this 1099 thing is a fixed amount and I don't think I'll end up paying too much surplus amount above 1099 by way of tax or other miscellaneous cost as opposed to option 3 above.

    So these are my worries.

You are right , 2nd one is atleast fully unlimited. And in that you do not have to worry for anything else..........

The 3rd plan total costs you around Rs. 1104/month with all taxes included, you can combine a Home 500 c and c+ in it. That means 225 free calls/month and 4 GB/month for the day and night unlimited.

Since ur guidiing me excellently am now caught up in a dilemma whether to option 2 or 3 because u have given me valid points pertaining to both option 2 and 3. So am in a sort of confusion now.

Ok if you were me or rather I think by now u must have realised what kinds of ways I use the net and my present frame of mind---now assuming if u were me which option would u go for? option 2 or option 3?

(rem that its 4MBps in impatience schemes and only 2mbps peak speed in home 500, home 500c and home 500c+)

I will definitly go for the 2nd one................
Because I need high upload speed.

If you need download of more than 120 GB/month go for 3rd one.............

lucky you :P btw they should stop giving FUP limit for small bandwith like 15GB etc... it would be good if they provide 50GB FUP limit with 4MBPS impatience plans.
