Hey guys it good news to all ... Airtel had increased the double broadband to all the customers for example

if they have 256 kbps they will get 512 kbps for same price..

implementing all over inidia

No yar i am staying in chennai my speed was doubled if you want u can call to customer care and ask

my speed is still the same. I live in Mumbai.

I think if AirTel is going to double the speed, they are surely going to advertise in their website and in TV.

The OP is right. I got a call too a month back saying by June, my speed would be doubled, i.e. from 512kbps (Day)/1mbps (Night) to 1mbps (Day)/2mbps (Night).

Not Sure of Airtel......but BSNL had doudled the speed of its usage plans i.e 256 KB to 512 KB till April 30......after that i dont whether they r going to continue the same or not......

yea its amazing if they are gonna double broadband speed, it would be great if they posted this news onto their website too so all their broadband customers would know this.

I am in chennai for me already they have upgraded to 512kbps may be in some areas they will upgrade in june

So the current 1Mbps Rs.1699 plan people will be upgraded to 2Mbps? r u sure abt that? im also using 512kbps (Day)/1mbps (Night) plan right now.

i read on another forum that the double upgrade is only for 256 and 512 plans.

can any one confirm this?

yes its true but will get 1mbps unlimited all time instead of 1mbps in day and 2mbps in night.


I am getting 1mbps all time on my swift 1099 plan due to double speed offer.

uh! how you are getting double speed? i thought this thing is not done in Mumbai yet??

Very Simple

Get the dth connect then give a call to airtel cc and tell to activate double speed offer and give them your dth id.

but that double speed thing is only available for certain broadband plans, which one do you have?

So without taking the DTH connection my speed won't be doubled?

no, Airtel is already upgrading speed for all the broadband customers that's what the link to some articles said, so you have to wait till June for your speed to get doubled.

i'm on a 2mbps unlimited connection
will it be doubled to 4mbps ?

if 1mbps are getting doubled to 2 then why should i pay twice for the same speed ...
any idea how this works

no, 2MBPS plans won't be doubled, and i think same with 1MBPS plans, it is only for 256 kbps and 512 kbps plans.

the ndtv link posted on the first page, says 1mbps will be doubled to 2 (cannot add the link as i dont have 15 posts)

and if its only for 512kbps , wont everyone on 1mbps downgrade and still get 1mbps 512kbps x2 for much less


i can see them increasing their minimum speed from 256 to 512 , but doubling speeds for other plans at no cost will be messy
