Default Airtel Reduced my Speed to Half and they are blaming it on undersea cable

I am on turbo 1299 plan, today Airtel has reduced my night speed from 1 Mbps to 512Kbps and they are blaming it on the fault in the undersea cable.

This happens to me after every two months, they reduce my speed and I have to fight with them to get me night speed back.

Please let me know if any of you have been given similar reasons for reduction in speed.

    ridiculous reply from Airtel...

i think you should threaten them that you can change your service provider constantly... thats the only way they can learn.. btw Airtel is a good company...

on a side note ask them why they had just your cable under water

    Default I threatened them

I threatened them and I have even requested for a change of plan, but instead of trying to make me keep the existing plan they accepted my change of plan request.

I don't know what to do, they do this to me after every 2 months, they reduce my night speed and then give me ridiculous reasons.

It looks I like only my cable is coming from under the sea.

I cannot move to BSNL as they don't have any good unlimited plans.

Default I have decided to change my plan to a lower one

I had migrated to Turbo 1299 in the month of July 2009, since then I have faced lots of trouble from them, I had to call several times just to get the right speed at night and to get the double speed at the correct time.

So I have decided to move to a lower plan because the episode with Airtel after every two months is causing me lots of mental trouble. I am also considering about moving to BSNL but I have several doubts about them regarding there service in Bhopal.

We don't live in a country where we can sue our ISP for not providing us proper service even after paying them full money on time and get some kind of justice. This will only add to a long list of consumer complaints still pending against Airtel at various consumer forums/courts.

    Default Reduced to Half

Well I migrated to the 1099 plan from Turbo 1299 and since today morning my speed got reduced to 384Kbps from 512Kbps and now Airtel is blaming it on under sea cable repair.

They said that all the customers have been sent an sms informing them about this situation, I have not received any sms regarding this matter.

If any member of India Broadband has indeed received an sms about this situation do let me know.

I came to know about this situation through newspaper and reading the news online but no information was provided by Airtel.

    Default I know its real

I talked with the customer care executive today and they told me that the repair work has been extended to 30th April 2010.

Those who are experiencing similar problem please ask your CCE and please let me know has the repair work for the undersea cable really extended or its just another excuse from Airtel.

Default They are doing it again

After being online for around 2 to 3 hours in the day time my speed gets reduced to 256 Kbps and then I have to switch off the modem 2 to 3 times for a small interval to get my speed back to 512 Kbps.

Is anyone facing similar problems then please let me know?
