Thread: some doubts about airtel

i am planning to switch from bsnl to another isp. I want to know abt airtel. I had a look at their tariffs and airtel.in.i have some doubts.i have attched a pic. i am planning to take turbo 1099 plan with 512kbps at day and 1 mbps at night.
1 do they give landline also with broadband?
2.what is installation charge?
3.what is the free call value(as in the pic). Does it mean that when i am paying 1099 rs, i will get free call value of 1000 rs every month? someone please explain all this to me.

landline comes with the connection .. dont use it , not charges for it

installation charges are fixed at around 1000 .. the thing is , if you can go and talk to them personally or make them contact you , filling some form via a retailer (there are plenty where i live) , you have the upper hand .. they can do it for free if they have a target to reach and are falling short .. tell them the charges are too much and they will almost certainly reduce it

the free calls are for local AFL , ie , airtel fixed lines .
you basically get rs1000 worth calls to other local airtel landlines free .. not really that useful for me as there arent too many people i know with airtel fixed lines ..

so what abt calls to other phones which are not airtel? is it 1 rupee per minute? In the pic, the cost was rs 1099. so does it mean both landline and broadband together cost 1099 rs per month??

it says its 1.2p/sec for not airtel landlines/mobiles and 1p/sec for airtel landlines and mobiles (local calls) .. std rates are not included in that screenshot .. scroll down a bit or call the CC

you get a phone and net through the same wire , there will be a phone instrument with an airtel number that you will get with the connection (free , with the broadband connection) . use it and pay for what you use . dont use the phone and dont pay more

the 1099+tax is what you pay for the internet and the phone connection .
if you dont use the phone then you just have to pay 1099+tax ..
