Thread: Anyone playing cs on steam

If you do plz mention your ping on indian servers and plan on airtel bb , i'm planning to get a connection for myself.

I get 75 - 100 ms ping on my BSNL Broadband.

Thats quite high , i used to get 50-60 ping on my slow hathway connection , i heard airtel is best for that , anyone using it.

To play online CS ping of less than 150 ms is ok. May the starting ping wil be 50 ms but while playing when continuous data is transfered then it increases to some what high value, that occurs with me. In the start i get 62 ms ping but while playing it fluctuate within 60- 100 ms.

hmmm...........

Ya Airtel has got good ping but it is not available everywhere.

I'm planning to get 256kbps plan , would i be able to play smoothly on indian servers , i dont want to play on foreign hosts.

yes you easily can play CS online.

Guys, i've always wanted to play counterstrike online but haven't managed to so far. I'm looking for a little help here to get me started. Please confirm my understanding of the following:

1. I have to download the Steam client
2. Is this a paid service?
3. Do i have to install any counterstrike client as well?
4. Is there a website that can guide me?

Also, are there any other online action games similar to counterstrike?

No paid service no client needed. Just open cstrike.exe and go to FIND SERVERS and then you will see servers. Just go to some websites and checkout Indian severs so that you get good ping then add them in server list and then start playing.

i play CS on steam and no matter which server from India i play i get max 60ms

1. Steam app is free and even registering account is.
2. you can play CS on 2 types of server. Steam servers and Non-Steam servers.
3. to play on Steam servers, you need steam app , steam user ID and a CS Game legally purchased from steam or a Original CD of CS which you can buy from chroma or planetM costing 500 Rs/-.
4. As per my exp, its worth paying 500 Rs/- cauz on Non_Steam servers 8/10 are hackers and it ruins the game.


IMHO ,No other online game is as fantastic and challenging as CS 1. 6.
CS has 3 versions , CS 1.6 , CS-Condition Zero and CS-Source and last 2 SUX to the core.
