airtel already did long before BSNL. My net speed has been doubled my Airtel for around 2 months now....

Just conformed with Airtel Engineer , the Speed hike is only for Low Speed Packs , 128/256/384 all get upgraded to 512 that's it ! I guess we just have to wait and watch.

Agreed I am in the 699 plan and my speed was upgraded to 512kbps. But the best part is that I get full 64kBps download speed. In Bsnl it would always be around 26- 28 kBps under the 256 kbps plan. Big thumbs up for Airtel from my side atleast !!


Also my usage has crosses 15gb , how come the speed has not been halved. Is it because I am a new user and this is my first month of Airtel Service ??

i have been getting the same luck till now as well
been using 499 plan for last 2 months.
seems like i have downloaded nearly 150 gb by now , that too without speed reduction

means that airtel didn't apply fup on you?
Really lucky coz it's bsnl which some times give luck,you are not caught by airtel,

^^ Actually almost all the Airtel BB subscribers that I have spoken to have mentioned the same thing. That they always cross their limits and Airtel does not limit the speeds (or enforce any kind of FUP).

Then airtel is really good,however i have to face the Bsnl!No airtel in my area

I always cross my 75 GB FUP and reach 120 GB but there is not speed capping, wood touch.
