Yep you are right buddy but considering my requirement its good. As for the week days i use my office broadband connection of 5 MBPS and need a net connection only on week ends that too just for checking my mails, some wall papers download and reading blogs so its good to have Net (Rs 20*8days=Rs160 per month) with a good 18kbps that tooo considering the fact that its a GPRS.

    OH! now i get it
You mean you pay only for the days your use, then it is very good
I taught that you need to pay Rs 20/Day for the whole month if you subscribe for the service

guys whn i ws using airtel gprs it used to be 4-5kbs both in karnataka as well as in delhi.....but with airtel data card it hovered around 13-15 kbps........the basic thing is u cannot use these speeds for dwnlding or uploading......it can only be usd to chk mails or just surfing the net......but with rel data cards it ws not so bad as the phon or the data card gives 15-17kbps....but still reliance is damm costlier thn airtel.....it is upon u ....weather u can afford to pay for rel or be happy at airtel.....

in gprs most of the mobiles 0-4kbps and it may go till 8 or 10kbps but if you need more speed you should use 3g service or wifi on mobile

in 3g service u could get speed upto 3.6 mbps which means 450 KBps but u couldn't get unlimited plan they max of 10-15gb data transfer...... so the best way of internet is ur landline broadband.....

I think if you really want wireless broadband go for CDMA EVDO (Normally around 2mbps) from TATA indicom/Reliance/MTS or GSM edge (Around 200kbps)
    from Airtel/Idea/Vodafone etc

Most of the times it used to be quite close to the speed I requested for the service unless there is some outage. I used it for over 2 years and I am quite happy with the service
