Rep Power: 0 | Hello friends, the topic of this thread is really very serious one, but the point is this: Is it worth paying for what connections speed you get by Airtel GPRS. ppl in this thread seems to be very funny who speek about connection speed which is even less than 12kbps.. Yes this is a gr8 advantage to check your email sitting in the train or even travelling by autorikshaw... afterall India is an IT I have used GPRS on airtel more than 5 years , 3 years back i first tried watch TV channels like Aaj tak, zoom etc on my second phone 6230, even at that time the streaming was perfect, but now i am on broadband , & my wifi ipaq gets free wireless accepoint easily while im roaming near the office or sometimes sitting in the cafeteria. i have a mate who has GPRS enabled on his phone showed me how better it is if going by unlimited plan, but their are many unlimited plans by broadband connections though little bit much costlier or almost same. I didnt find that if the GPRS speed has improved than before. what i feel is airtell is just on the loot by takeing the advantage of ppl less knowledge of accesing the interent & by provisioning unlimited hype.. now they have another idea to loot using blackberry bla bla . dont know what the wireless future would be , & how fast internet be ther on it... |

Rep Power: 1 | Hey i used to get 7-8 kbps download speed on airtel till few months back but now it sucks with 1-1.5Kbps download speed (Mobile office Rs20/day) But now i've got an Idea prepaid and it is giving me 15-18KBPs download speed constantly and its almost a month now speed even went to 21-22 in night and i am really satisfied with it considering the same price Rs 20/day I am using Nokia 6630. |

Rep Power: 1 | Yep you are right buddy but considering my requirement its good. As for the week days i use my office broadband connection of 5 MBPS and need a net connection only on week ends that too just for checking my mails, some wall papers download and reading blogs so its good to have Net (Rs 20*8days=Rs160 per month) with a good 18kbps that tooo considering the fact that its a GPRS. |

You mean you pay only for the days your use, then it is very good I taught that you need to pay Rs 20/Day for the whole month if you subscribe for the service | |
