Thread: Query regarding Airtel service in West Bengal districts

Hi All
I would like to introduce myself. I am Milan Chatterjee from West Bengal and am new to this forum, and this is my first posting.

I would like to know, that among the three service providers viz: Tata photon, Reliance Net Connect and Airtel Wireless Broadband who is the best and "worst" in the districts.

At the moment, I am a Tata Photon plus user, and am not very much satisfied with the service in the districts, with slow speed and frequent disconnection. but in major towns, the service is somewhat okay.

Though, I am extremely satisfied with Airtel Mobile both in districts area and Calcutta area, I am interested to know about districts.

Also, can a Calcutta/West Bengal connection used in other states?

Tata photon is better at most places. I don know why your district faces network problems. You may look onto evdo from bsnl.

I don't know about the services in districts of West Bengal. However, Reliance Netconnect rocks in Kolkata.

@Milan, Please mention your exact location if you don't mind.

Reliance NC+, Tata Photon+, etc. give good speeds in metros and certain tier 1 cities only. Check their website. They have listed these cities.

For instance, my Reliance NC+ works at 2+ mbps in Pune but drops to CDMA 1x (144 kbps) just 30 km outside Pune.

BSNL EVDO is better in that respect.
