Default Which Airtel plan is good in Upload Speed

    Hi Friends,

    Currently I am in Bangalore.

I have Airtel 1299 Plan, its amazing it gives upload 2 MBPS and download only 300 KBPS.

I need some plan which gives me around 800 KBPS to 1 MBPS speed for UPLOAD.

    Can anyone share there experience.

    thanks

I am using the Combo 499 plan which gives me an upload speed of 1 Mbps. This plan was available on Karnataka also. Check with Airtel CC for additional details.

But Combo is a limited one , there is always a risk of crossing the allocated Quota in that what about Unlimited one ?

dude rather than plan your line quality matters most, a friend of mine is using same plan as yours but he is getting much better upload so plan wont help you that much.

Combo 499's revised FUP is 30GB. After that the download speed is reduced to 1Mbps UL. The upload speed still stays at 1Mbps.

This statement is also correct. I would advice the OP to get the line checked for high attenuation factor. A mere crack in the telephone line is more than ample to ruin the entire experience.

Call their CC and tell your line is not ok and you are getting disturbance etc and insist on changing whole wire from DP box.

Rcom the line is changed a week back only, and 1 small junction box is hooked 3 days back after that only my speed got slowed up, thats what I said Airtel guys but they are saying sir if you are getting download around 2 MBPS your line is correct only.

cool_techie_tvm I see there is a 499 Plan but Broadband Data Transfer Limit is mentioned 3 GB and you have written 30 GB how its possible, please correct me

Maybe that DP box which is giving connection to you and others is overloading with bandwidth you never know someone who is getting his connection from your DP is avid torrent user or a bandwidth hog thus ruining whole experience.

Oh. It seems they have discontinued the old combo 499 plan. It was an UL plan with 1 Mbps speeds. The fair usage policy of that plan used to be 5GB. On crossing the 5GB data limit, the speeds would be reduced to 512kbps.

Now they have upgraded the speeds of that plan to 2 Mbps. The revised fair usage policy according to Airtel CC is 30GB.

Actually we never thought of this FUC* USAGE policy by ANDACEL, otherwise we would have never changed our old plans.

On Daily basis Andacel is changing there plans and BSNL is also following it blindly, but I hope 1 day will come when all Airtel customers will move to some other ISP who offers cheap rates and better speed.

Getting good UPLOAD speed is very difficult. It looks like they came out with new broadband plans with effect from June 2010. Apparently on the surface, it looks like they increased the download speeds and for an average consumer it is a good thing too.

For people like you Airtel1299 and me, it is another story. Just like you I also need more UPLOAD speed but talking to Airtel CS is a waste of time. They don't tell you how much upload speed you will get on a particular plan which is pretty sad.

I was on a Speed 599 plan and got it changed to Browser 799. It did increase my upload speed a bit. I would suggest that you try upgrading your plan and see if that helps you anything. Otherwise, consider switching to Tata Indica internet if at all it is available in your area. They do provide you with all the information about UPLOAD speeds right on their website.
